Motivational Transportation

Here’s what I’ve been dealing with this last week: I need a new car.

I’ve been driving my old car for close to seven years, it has 110,000 miles now and it is not only starting to look the part, but things are going wrong with it. Almost a $1000 in brake repairs on Monday alone, and that doesn’t count the rest of the parts I’ve put into it in the last six months, so I began my search for the new Bootie-ride this week.

While I do make a decent wad of cash working at the Occidental Tush Institute, I don’t buy new cars, as that is a waste of money. I also do not buy luxury brand cars. Dr. Lucious Thai says that this is because I’m cheap, but I see no reason to spend an extra $10 grand buying a Lexus when I can get the same thing with a Toyota badge on it (a neat trick The Kid showed me a few years back). I’ll let Thai buy himself a brand new car every other year while I keep my bank account ready for those quick research trips to Rio.

Unfortunately for me, this time around I wasn’t sure what I wanted. It is still a couple years too early to pick up one of those new Chrysler products used at a decent price and nothing else suits my fancy, so I asked around OTI for some suggestions in a five or six passenger vehicle (I haul a lot of ass around town, you see) and I got quite a few good ones.

One of the Regents I spoke to, Doctor Goodwin Brest, even gave the contact information to a couple of dealerships that he has dealt with in the past and been very happy with, so leaving my classroom instruction time to my TA for a day, off I went shopping, cash at the ready, to make the best deal.

I quickly figured out why Dr. Brest liked these dealerships, and you will too.

Please meet my sales associate, Alicia

Unfortunately for Alicia, her selection of autos left something to be desired.

Unlike some of her other attributes.
