Wet Weekend

It is the opening day of boating season in a number of cities.

I was talking to The Kid about commenter Rivrdog’s warning to him get an order of restraint for that stalker woman, seeing as how I have a few women (and even more husbands) who send me strange emails, to see if Rivrdog would be joining him at that shooting thing today.

The Kid said that Rivrdog wouldn’t be joining him as the man will be spending the weekend on his boat, out on the water.

I suppose that a guy with who can still lay down the law, and did for a quarter century, might deserve a little bit of luck sent his way for a good weekend.

So, even though you probably won’t see this until Monday, here is a wish for twice as much fun this opening day of boating season, Dog.

This goes for the rest of you folks who will be spending the next couple days on the water as well. Be careful out there.

Thank you Professor! I had a great time out with my club, set a new fuel conservation record for my 32-foot cruiser of 1.52 mpg (don’t laugh until YOU have ponied up more than $400 to fill your boat’s tank!). My yacht club took Best Decorated Boat and Best Overall Club in the opening day parade, one minor Second and two minor Thirds out of 14 clubs, and I had the honor to be on the pass-in-review line where we were graded BY LASER RANGEFINDER on maintaining perfect 50-foot formation at a perfect 5 knots (on radar gun) while passing the anchored review vessels. The river was running almost 4 knots current, with a 10-knot cross-wind. To add to our club’s difficulty, we had a sailboat (running on engine) in the middle of our fleet of 20 boats.

For a picture of the Best Decorated boat, see my blog.

Thanks again, and you DO have some very good looking deckhands, Professor.
