Tuesday Dog Blogging: Belly Up Edition

Not enough sleep to keep awake at work last night, and now I feel like my big-man Russell did over weekend while I was watching moves.

He slept like that for a good 90 minutes Saturday night. He didn’t even wake up when I got up to get the camera.

Russell is Dachsund-Corgi mix, commonly called a ‘Dorgie’. We figure he was at least 8 when we found him at the pound, which will put him at 13 this summer. It was his last week there before they were to put him down. We introduced him to our other dog, Ellie, and they got along so well that we just couldn’t leave him. His ‘young dog’ act is not what it used to be. The gray around the muzzle and on the paws is a sure giveaway. He still runs, but not quite as far or as fast, and he likes the step we gave him so that he can get onto the bed. Russ gets his childrens aspirin (half for breakfast/half for dinner) so that he doesn’t feel the pain too badly.

And I’ll be damned if he doesn’t give 100% every day, all day (even when he sleeps and has his dog dreams).

FYI, I was watching the 4th Harry Potter movie again to try and clear up some of the questions I had, to no avail.

I’d like to thank everyone who answered last week’s question about the books versus the movies. I’ve instructed the wife to keep and eye out for used copies of the books.

And now if you’ll excuse me, it is sleepy time.

He looks like a true Loungertarian. 🙂
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: Thank you & the Analog Wife for adopting a “rescue” animal.
