Is this Diversity?

They’re forming a Prayer in School Blue Ribbon Committee in the Seattle School District that will look into, well, letting the students pray while at school.

Don’t go fallin out of your chairs just yet, this committee will only be trying to figure out how to make it so the Muslim students can get their prayer on.

The SPS Department of Race and Equity is looking for SEA members to participate in a “Prayer in Schools Committee,” the charge of which is to look at how to address this issue District wide and to provide information about our Muslim students that will help teachers and building leaders make decisions that support the needs of our diverse students and families.

I’m sorry, I must have a faulty dictionary. According to my Webster’s the words in the phrase “support the needs of our diverse students and families”, would have led me to believe that Christians, Buddhists, Hindis AND Muslims would be offered a solution by this committee.

I’m going straight down to Amazon.Com HQ and complain.

Maybe I’m being simplistic here, but could not parents just give teachers a signed form saying “please excuse my kid from class at X time to pray?”
