Let’s Play “Name Your Cuts!”

I found this story at the Kos IMC:

[Bush] plans to fulfill his pledge to halve the record $413 billion federal budget deficit by submitting a 2006 budget next month that includes nothing for some programs. He wouldn’t name them.

“We will present a budget that wisely spends the people’s money, that cuts the deficit in half, that will enable me to get up in front of the people and say those programs that aren’t working won’t be getting extra money, and some of the programs won’t be getting any money at all,” he said.

Sounds like a plan to slow down and/or stop the deficit spending to me, and it is about damn time.

Your task is to think of what you would like cut and put it in the comments section.

  1. Dolan says:

Maybe, just maybe, he read his oath of office, the Constitution and the democraps budget request and is just not going to fund anything that is not authorized by the Constitution….just dreaming. maybe a test run on some.

  2. Don Myers says:

Y’know, Dubya pulled the same trick with his last budget, only then he did it with the War on Terror. Projected costs of the war in the Federal Budget was Zero. Zilch. Not a sausage.

Then he spent untold billions to enrich his campaign contributors in the for-profit war of occupation.

Is there any Bush lie you won’t swallow hook, line, and sinker?

  3. AnalogKid says:

That is what I had in mind, Dolan. But like you said, ‘Just Dreaming’ is probably what we’re both doing in that respect.

Myers, when you can prove that his entire intention was to “enrich his campaign contributors in the for-profit war of occupation”, you can make blanket statements as you did. Until then, keep your kool aid to yourself. I’m not thirsty.

As for ‘Bush lies’ feel free to go throught he archives and search out any that have been swallowed “hook, line, and sinker”. Feel free to email me with your list if you feel it is too long for a comments section. Until then, again, your blanket statements are just horseshit.

Oh, and I would like to point out that the folks over at Kos believe Bush enough to be frightened about what he is going to try and cut. So, why don’t you head on over there any imply that they’re ignorant as well, please.

Now, onto the ‘previous budget’, you are talking about the 05 budget or the 04 budget?

You may also want to go and look at Clinton’s reqs for the occupation of Bosnia and see if they were included in the stanard budget or they were special appropration requests for Congress before you look silly.

And while you’re off looking up history, take a looksee to find out whether or not he asked for enough money in the following budget to replace the 280+ Cruise Missles he shot into empty tents and asprin factories or if he just let the stockpiles absorb the usage, leaving us short.

    Have a nice day.

  4. Army of Dad says:

Back on topic. How about not funding the UN? Any aid to unfriendly foreign countries? Probably small potatoes when you look at the size of the entire budget, but you have to start somewhere.

  5. Don Myers says:

How typical, kid—instead of refuting my main point you change the subject and hurl insults. You’ve learned well at the feet of FoxNews.

Check with George Orwell—who you seem to respect although you CLEARLY don’t understand—and read what he said about “perpetual war.” Then come back and try to tell me that the war in Iraq isn’t a money-making proposition for Dubya’s campaign contributors. I could use the laughs.

  6. AnalogKid says:

A little thin skinned, aren’t we Myers?

Please, point out the insult in my last comment, for I am at a loss to see it. I even wished you a nice day.

All I did was ask for some … wait for it … PROOF of your accusations. Imagine that!

And your pap response is … wait for it … PROOF that you can’t provide any. Poor wittle Myers.

But thats OK. I know you feel a deep, dark need to be victimized, even if it is only your own mind, you’re a leftie, and without feeling victimized at least once a day, you just don’t like you’ve ben fulfilled.

And thanks for seeing that I have respect for Orwell. Clearly, you and yours do not and just like to use his words to make hyperbolic talking-points, along with anyone else who has a catchphrase you can put to your own use.

Maybe you should look up his terms for the use of language to sway public opinion. Sorry, no Google keywords for you to use.

Guess I’m victimizing you once again, aren’t I?

    Since I’m a full service blogger, I will provide you with an insult, since you so clearly need one today. Let’s see, how is this;

‘Hey Paddy, why don’t you take your sorry ass on down to the pay booths and hang out with your mother and leave the grown ups alone!’

Was that good enough for you, Myers?

Let me know if it is not. I can include anyone you want in the next one.

    Have a nice day.

  7. AnalogKid says:

Not funding the UN. I like that one!

And no danegeld either! Oooh, AoD, you’re talking music to my ears.

  8. Raging Dave says:

National Endowment for the Arts. Cut that sucker out rightfriggingnowthankyou. So much tax money wasted on people who produce crap that nobody wants to buy.

Getting rid of UN funding? Fine and dandy with me. Hell, there’s tons of pork programs that need to be shelved. The Tea Review Board (if the tea companies want imports checked, then let them do it themselves!) If I recall correctly, there might even still be a study for the flow-rate of catsup. (or kechup, whatever the hell it’s spelled) Gone. Junk it.

And as for Don “for profit war of occupation” – prove it. Or shut the fuck up. I’m tired of mindless fucking drones like you reguritating the same tired DNC talking points, doing nothing but bothering the grown ups and proving that you’re just too fucking stupid to be allowed on the internet alone. You want insults, you little fucking worm? I can have a go with it if you really want to feel like a poor lil victim. But I’d much rather watch you hem and haw your way around a subject that you obviously don’t know anything about.

  9. AnalogKid says:

    Thanks for the reminder, Dave!

Both of the NEAs need to go. The National Endowment for the Arts and National Education Association.

Neither of them produce anything useful.

Get rid of the Dept of Education and the Nat Ed Assoc dies a slow and painful death.
