Don’t know if any of y’all still read Rachel Lucas (I still find her worthwhile to check in with every month or so to read a few weeks’ worth of snark all at once — especially as she’s now blogging from Europe!) but her beloved Sunny just passed away.
This resonated a bit too close for home to me as we returned from Barcelona to find that our pit/lab/shepherd mix Kaya was suddenly losing bladder control at odd moments. She’s got a very expressive face and her mortification was palpable.
I immediately thought the worst. She’s nine-and-a-half years old, after all. While “kidney failure=death” cycled endlessly through my brain, we had her checked out, and today were quite relieved to find out that she’s just got a urinary tract infection that should clear up shortly with the proper meds.
