Welcome!

To Fantasy Island!

Thank you, Mr. Ruark, but this isn’t Fantasy Island, this is the new Random Nuclear Strikes!

I thought we’d been through this? Get out of here, Ruark! You hack!

Hello everyone and welcome to our new place!

Do not be alarmed. Be very, very afraid!

We have been rebuilt. We are stronger, faster and smarter than ever before. OK, maybe not smarter, but we sure do feel like it with the sharp, clean edges and that “New Blog Smell”.

I’d first like to give a big time Thank You to Mr. Craig at MT Politics for the hours he put in getting this beast to run. He is still on a personal quest to de-stankify the RNS archives going back to 2002, and he will let me know when his quest is done. I just hope it won’t be like a Monty Python Holy Grail quest, so just in case, don’t be letting loose any naughty nurses of Anthrax in his general direction if you want to see the archives again. Also, I’m sure that his wife wouldn’t appreciate that.

We are optimized for viewing at 1024×768 for those who care about those things and I hope that the size change and the text and background changes help the readability of RNS, since the whole point of a blog is to read it.

And comment on it! The comments work now! Happy Day, Happy Day!

David and I will be learning how to use WordPress during the next couple weeks, so if you see something strange, don’t worry too much, we’re working on it.

Let me know if you have any difficulties. I’m still at the same address “RandomNuclearStrikes – at – GMail – dot – Com” so feel free to write or just leave a comment somewhere and I’ll get that soon enough.

Thanks for stopping by RNS. Have a good week.

Well now…one can finally comment here without registration and a TypeKey account. Man, have I been waiting for this for a long, long time.

    First of all…errr, ummm….hmmmm….
    Well then, secondly…ummm, errrr….hmmmm….
In short, the crux of the matter is hmmm,….ummm, errrr…

The new format looks great and is much easier to read. I’m almost giddy in anticipation of the Pacific NW libtard comments that are sure to show up once word gets around.

Looks good AK! One small gripe: your TOC (to the right here), looks misaligned, maybe the background graphic needs to be centered? Also, the bullets are muttled a bit. Sorry, you asked, and as a QA guy, I get paid to look at the details!

  3. Kirk says:

    Ahhh…

At long last. I can comment again… you need to implement captchas so you will have a comment spambot blocker without having to resort to some sign up service…

  4. Erik says:

    DAMN!

    Love the new look!

  5. Craig says:

    Those bullets are ugly.

    I’ll fix those right up.

  6. Craig says:

Better, but I’m not a real great graphics guy.

  7. AnalogKid says:

Thank you for fixing those, Craig. And thank you all for commenting.

Screw Christmas, this is one of the coolest presents ever! I can talk TO people not AT them.

Congratulations on the remodel! It looks good!
Since you are asking for advice, why not narrow down that sidebar on the right? Or stretch the names out. Or do both and downsize the font a little; there is a lot of wasted space. I am interested in the sidebar, do not get me wrong, but I am more interested in your posts. Also, “Discover the Netwrok” contains a mis-spelling.
Thanks for eliminating the requirement to register for comments.

  9. David says:

Looking VERY COOL. There are MARGINS in the archived posts! Hooray!

I agree, the blogroll font could stand to be smaller.

  10. Fred says:

Thanks for the new look and comments without register.
Keep up the good work-God bless.
    Fred
