Support Your Independent Contractors

Listening to local talk-radio last night, I heard some guys you might want to know about.

They are called “The Pipe Hitters Union

From the front page of their site,

The term “Pipe Hitters describes people that you call when you need to get a job done, no questions asked.

In recent times the term “Pipe Hitters more accurately describes the persons you would want with you when things go wrong. They are the people you can always count on in a tough situation.

“Pipe Hitters” will stand their ground and if necessary respond with an Overwhelming Level of Force.

The actions taken by the American people following the September 11th attacks was a clear example of people with a true “Pipe Hitters attitude. We answered aggressors with a controlled, immediate response, executed with an Overwhelming Level of Force.

This type of response is utilized daily by men and women in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and other missions around the globe. Their dedication and professionalism are a direct reflection of the beliefs and ideals that those of us with a “Pipe Hitters attitude possess.

In times of conflict or peace, there will always be a need for “Pipe Hitters who stand ready for any challenge that may arise.

With the increasing number of “Pipe Hitters involved in supporting our efforts across the globe, we wanted to find a way to identify all those who believe in our way of life, thus showing their support of our informal “Union.

The man on the radio was named Justin, and you can find him in the contact section of the site. The host of the show was Bryan Suits, a Lieutenant in the Washington National Guard who spent most of 2004 and part of 2005 on the ground in Iraq. Bryan is one straight-shooter of a guy who trucks no bullshit and I expect that this group has met his test if he let them in his studio.

The Pipe Hitters Union has a line of clothing with their logo on it for sale. According to Justin, they are donating 10% of items purchased (their profit, basically) to The Man Down Foundation, which lends assistance to fallen Independent Security Contractors, as well as military families in the future. Don’t let the media fool you, not all of these guys are raking $100K a year, and when they get hurt, they need help too.

Seeing as I know that I have a good number of visitors to RNS who fit the “Pipe Hitter mindset, I suggest you take a look around their site and check them out. The PHU store is behind the tab near the top of the page. I suggest you take a look though there as well.

Seeing as how today is payday, you can probably guess where I’m shopping this morning.
