I have seen a lot of blogger going on about the Hamas victory in the barely recognizable as such, election in for control of the ‘Palestinian Authority’. Jimmeh Cahtah giving his seal of approval to the ‘elections’ gave the stroy legs. But one thing I haven’t seen is the good side of the story.
Now, before you jump on me for having lost my marbles, hear me out:
With Hamas in a position of power, Israel doesn’t even have to make motions at talking to the PA anymore and neither do we. The “Palestinian Authority” is now an official terror state. With Hamas, the terror group that any sane country* recognizes as such, behind the wheel all of their past atrocities can be laid out every single time they speak up saying they want something from Israel.
Fatah was and is quite stomach churning, but Hamas makes people projectile vomit. They are a stain on the suit coat of the “One Worlder’s” who support them.
The IRA ran the “Political Wing/Militant Wing” dog into the ground and only the simplest of the simple will fall for that crap anymore. Hamas will have to choose to be one or the other, and we all know that they’ll never choose politics over killing Jews, so now, not only will Israel have justification for pulling the card on Hamas terrorists, they’ll be justified in taking out the new Hamas “Politicians”, who are much easier to find, because politician have to make public appearances.
I could be wrong, but I see this as at least somewhat of a good thing.
* I have never advocated the UN as “Sane”
There’s a tactical reason many Hamas leaders were telling Western journalists after their victory that they really hadn’t wanted victory.
Not just that they now have to put up or shut up in terms of governing, and can’t be comfortable as back-bench “bomb-throwers”(heh).
It’s that the next time anyone acting for Hamas lobs mortars or rockets into Israel, it’s now an act of war against Israel by the Palestinian state. Hamas is famous for not having a central power structure. They’d better get one quick.
