The Soundboard: Dancing Queen Edition

The guy who cleans my employer’s offices at night immigrated here from Vietnam within the last six years. He has an assistant who is an even more recent immigrant from there.
Some nights, this assistant cannot work for him, so the assistant’s wife comes in and does the guy’s job.

This happened last week. She was in cleaning up my section of the recently enlarged office while I was working and listening to ZZTop’s 1983 Eliminator album.

Because I work nights (when the boss ain’t around), my co-workers decided that I was going to get the desk along the wall which is occupied by a window that looks out from the boss’ office. So now I get to watch myself work during the night. I also get to see most of what is going on behind me.

If the ring tones of their mobile phones are any indication, these folks don’t listen to much American popular music, and have little to no historical knowledge of said subject.

Which is why I found it thoroughly surprising to look at the reflection in the window as I was reaching for my bottle of iced tea and caught a glimpse of dude’s wife making an attempt at rythmn in shaking her tush to the boogie woogie from Brother Billy and the boys.

Luckily, I had not yet had the chance to take a sip of tea before viewing this spectacle or the new twin monitor set-up would have needed replacing. If you remember the bad dance “Elaine” from Seinfeld did, this lady wasn’t even that good.

But hey, you got to shake what you got even if it’s not a lot.

So, in honor of the woman whose English is so bad she can’t even understand when I’m asking her what her name is, here are Brits pogoing to That Little Bad From Texas

Enjoy!
