Has anyone ever heard of this ass?

So I’m tip-toeing my way through the fever swamp that is The Huff-a-ton Post and I find this bitch-boy named “Kaj Larsen” posting about firearms and his upcoming Current TV special on the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot.

I use the derogatory term above because, as is usual with his kind, he makes the usual flaw of insulting anyone who has ever handled a fully automatic firearm outside of military service in his opening paragraph.

In the summer of 2006, I was in Mogadishu, Somalia, a failed and forgotten state that had been suffering from almost a decade of civil war. It is still one of the most dangerous places in the world, and even my 10 guards armed with Kalashnikovs didn’t prevent me from being detained by Islamic militias. During my five days in Mogadishu, I could rarely leave the security of the hotel. But, during one outing I convinced my guards to take me to the Irtokte Gun Market, the largest arms bazaar in Somalia. I spent 20 minutes at this open-air market, and was both amazed and alarmed at the sheer amount of firepower available for sale. There were thousands of AK-47s being sold as casually as carpets from wood framed stalls. I remember thinking what a unique and extraordinary experience I was having, and that I would probably never see this kind of thing again. Then I went to Knob Creek, Kentucky.

The Knob Creek gun range, in West Point, Kentucky is the home of the country’s largest machine gun shoot. This small rural town is a Mecca for gun enthusiasts and the weaponry both on display and for sale makes the Somalian gun market look like a neighborhood yard sale. During my time in Knob Creek, I watched everyone from 9-year-old grandsons to 80-year-old grandmas fire off everything from 9mm pistols to 50 caliber machine guns.

Fuck you, Kaj.

Everyone at Knob Creek was a law abiding citizen, who has had a background check deeper than your last colonoscopy. They suffer from the overbearing weight of a hundred government regulations and have to live in fear of going to jail because the federal agency who controls the licenses for these firearms will lie, cheat and lose paperwork, not caring that they will put people out of home and occupation simply to look busy and justify their budget.

You compare these upstanding and hardworking people to brigands and pirates in a Somali gun market?

Were you trying to gain the title of “Biggest Fucknozzle of the Year”, or did you just step into it like a pile of dogshit?

ES&D, Kaj.

I put in a request with veriSEAL.com to see if Kaj Larsen is legit.

Should get the answer in a couple of weeks.

Ask any soldier who ever served in Somalia, as far as arms go, it isn’t a backwater. There is some heavy hardware floating around down there, so hosenose’s comparison sucks, as to be expected. These GFWs will ALWAYS have a major hole in their arguments.

Screw him. I’ve seen the weapons markets in Kiev and outside of Sarajevo. They make Knob Creek look like a VFW yard sale. I’ve never been offered Semtex at Knob Creek, or a MANPAD to go with my truck. I go to Knob Creek at least once a month, and I go to both machine gun shoots every year. No one at Knob Creek is selling military hardware to whoever will pay the price. Everything that is sold is legal and safe. The folks at Knob Creek run a safe, fun, and great place, and this !#$#$knob needs to actually spend some time with real people before he starts maligning us.

I wonder if Kaj felt the need for a heavily armed security detail in Knob Creek…?

  5. I didn’t read it that way, Phil.

  6. Phil says:

    Thank you, Jimro.

Excellent observation, Rick. I hadn’t thought of that.

Then I apologize for the cussing, Jerry.

Got a confirmation from a back channel source.

Kaj Larsen is a legit SEAL, BUD/s class 237, commissioned in the Navy through OCS. Served 2001 to 2005.

The story at huffingtonpost.com is a reprint of his blog over at current.com which is a summary of the TV piece he did on Knob Creek. I watched the piece and while he says some stuff that is wrong (a 50 cal won’t kill with a near miss) he doesn’t come off as a complete gun control nut, at least by California standards.

Thank you, Jimro. Isn’t there something somewhere that says SEALS aren’t allowed to call themselves “Kaj” though?
