Rowrr! Hiss!

Kevin Drum doesn’t like his religion being mocked and so he puts his bitch hat on to try and flay aside suggestions that those who have economic ties to the success of the Global Warming Death Cult are not actually taking the actual “warming” portion seriously.

This is all about the UN Climate Change Summit in Bali and how Drum doesn’t like Glenn Reynolds mocking the attendees who, for some reason, each have to go in their own jet.

Now that is some funny shit. This is not.

But who cares? This is just an example of the current craze in global warming denialism: don’t literally deny that warming is happening (the actual facts make that too hard), merely mock every possible effort to fight it. International agreements? Obviously ridiculous. Federal regulation? Just an excuse for more anti-business spleen from the Birkenstock crowd. Carbon taxes? You’d like that, wouldn’t you? Government spending on amelioration? Forget it. We should spend the money on, um, clean drinking water for Chad instead. Yeah. Private efforts to inspire conservation? Just a bunch of hectoring, self-righteous Hollywood elites. Al Gore? He doesn’t live in a cave, so he’s a hypocrite.

He’s trying to be funny right there, but the flying spittle gives away his self-righteous indignation at having his idols intentions and motives questioned by a lesser human than himself and especially less than them.

Why he cannot see that it is yet another reason to go to Bali and lounge about while acting as theough they’re doing something, even though that they cannot take just one or two planes and instead have to each grab their own, like they all can’t just leave from NYC in a 747 and not, you know, put all that CO2 into the atmosphere.

But Kevin can’t see that because, well, I don’t know why. But his blindness is purposeful and may be because he’s figured out he’s being had (he’s not a dummy, just misguided).

Oh well. I hope that Glenn keeps getting under Kev’s skin. He’s bound to get funny one of these days.

It’s all about the money, plain and simple. The more they delude people into thinking the world is going to end, the more money they get to try and find a solution. But when the problem is non-existent, then the money can go where ever they want it to go.

As has been said repeatedly and often, I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who say it’s a crisis start to act like it’s a crisis. Until then, all those hypocritical shitheads who use more energy in a month than I use in a year can all kiss my white hairy ass.
