You simply need to read this post by Johnathon Pearce.
He was watching the BBC’s Newsnight program and, well, I simply can’t describe how sick to my stomach I felt after reading his post on the topic they were discussing (the teacher in Sudan who will be punished for letting a student name his teddy bear “Mohammad”) on the show.
The disposition of the Sudanese government representative is just, wow. Go read it. It is only three paragraphs.
The host, who, according to Pearce, is normally a rather outspoken interviewer, just kind of sat there taking it all in and letting the two guests go. I do wonder if, after the show, he came to the conclusion that the world, or at least the UK, had gone completely mad?
This should have been a stark object lesson on the barbarity of fundie Islam, but instead it now turns to an object lesson on Brit wussiness and got-dammed PeeCee.
When I first heard this, I thought, “Well now, even CNN or the Beeb can’t hide this one.”
But, I was wrong, it has been expertly obfuscated as some sort of political comment on Brit foreign affairs.
Perhaps the Sudanese imams will be idiot enough to take videos when their bully-boys flay the hide off the poor woman. When those videos hit the Intarweb, it will set the muslim-apologists back a decade.
For me, if I had any sense, I would immediately begin marketing a line of Teddy bears with Islamic garb and cute derivations of Islamic names.
Islam is not a religion. It is a lethal infestation. When is the world going to come to its senses and eliminate it? We got rid of smallpox and it was less virulent than islam.
