Ya gotta love government

OK, no you don’t, though if the Dems get much more power in DC, it will very likely be mandated.

As I mentioned in my cruise post, The Wife’s parents joined on this trip. They’re out here from Montana, so of course I asked them about this story:

After spending $1.6 million to install a community septic system for Rimini residents, the Environmental Protection Agency now wants to spend another $200,000 to remove most of it.

The federal agency also has reconsidered the price tag for building a community water treatment system for the 45 people who live in Rimini — a new estimate puts the cost at $4.4 million, up from $300,000 in the project’s Record of Decision issued in 2002.

That breaks down to a cost of about $98,888 per person, or $176,000 per household.

Actually, double that dollar figure, because half of the 45 residents are seasonal/recreational types, according to the father-in-law.

I wish that when I made a bad purchase with someone else’s money, that I could get more free money to fix whatever problems might arise.

Only in government work.

Btw, I’ve been asked to ask y’all not to laugh too hard at this example of expensive indecision.
