Vacation is good for the soul

I’ve got this week off. My last stretch of vacation until prolly January. I’m not going anywhere or doing much this time around though.

Halloween is the Wife’s favorite holiday and our 6th Wedding Anniversary is the day after. Fellas! Always, always, always try to get the anniversary off. It just makes things easier.

Anyway, so to start out the week, I awoke to find that I apparently fell asleep during Metalocalypse, and now the children’s cartoons are on. What is it about the current rash of children’s animation that makes the characters have to yell at each other about beating each other’s asses all the damn time? Porky Pig never screamed for 90 seconds about how he was gonna kick someone’s ass. Speedy Gonzalez might have given out the high pitched “Arriba! Arriba!” before taking off, but I awoke to some pair of jackass yelling for over a minute at each other about how badly the other one’s ass was going to get stomped, and then the bastards at the network went to commercial.

No wonder today’s kids are cowards. When Bugs said he was gonna get ya, you got got.

Moving on.

I was awake enough to grab the remote and roll on down to the the History Channel, figuring the yelling would be of a lesser content, only to find (thankfully) former President Jimmeh Cahtah giving his inauguration address on one of those “History in the Classroom” presentations The Big H shows first thing after signing back on.

As I rolled over, I said “You poor bastards. You have no idea what you’re getting into with that jackass. Still running from Nixon.” He then stopped talking, and I guess they switched to showing footage of the inauguration parade, because I looked up at the silence to see what I think was supposed to be a large peanut balloon being paraded down the street.

Only, it didn’t look like a peanut. It’s “brown” color was just too dark.

And I put my head back down on the pillow and said “Oh look, they’re floating a turd. Maybe they do know.”

Anyway, so I’ll be back after the wife goes comes home from work and goes to bed. So check back.

In the meantime, you should take a moment to peruse the comical stylings of the folks at LOLTHULHU, where I found this

And HALOLCATS, where things go like this
