The Soundboard: The Group Dynamic

A day late, but that just means I haven’t fallen asleep in the blogging chair for nearly two hours like I did yesterday.

Yes, it is that comfy here. Moving on….

I’ll be sticking with The Whigs again, this week, in case you haven’t guessed that from last week’s intro.

Our album this time around is their fifth release, 1996’s Black Love.

A very heavy R&B influence can be heard on this album, which is strange as they recorded it in the whitest metropolitan area in the nation, Seattle (the burbs of Woodinville and Edmonds, to be exact).

Pounds of Wah and and a nice dosing of organ flood this album, with “Going to Town” and “Honky’s Ladder” as the radio hits you’d probably recognize.

But today’s tunage will be neither of those.

Blame Etc.

Gotta love the growl.

Bulletproof

Is your game bulletproof?

The real magic ont his album though is the closer “Faded”, and I would post it, but it is a bit unrelatable without a listening to the whole album and would therefore be a waste of both our times. Just click the link above and get it to your house.
