OH, that’s just what they need

Rey Ramsey, local activist demands that the Fed give free high-speed internet to those living in public housing in this piece from the Seattle Times

Many low-income people live in affordable housing subsidized by federal and state governments. The president should issue an executive order directing the Department of Housing and Urban Development to mandate the inclusion of high-speed Internet in new and refurbished public housing units, and promote and permit the inclusion of broadband as an operating expense. Doing so would be a first step to helping low-income people gain the tools to achieve economic self-sufficiency and participate in the modern work force.

Ramsey wants to give the internet to a group of people who have already show society that, if given the chance, they will sit on their asses and watch The People’s Court all damn day.

The Internet.

I have a full time job and I can barely get off this damn thing to save my life. Take my job away, give me free public housing, free food and a check every month and I’ll be the most bloggingest blogger you’ve ever met. Instapundit would pale in comparison. I’d be a living RSS feed. Y’all would be begging me for an addy to send cash to so that I’d stop typing.

Ramsey is just another in a long line of excuse makers as to why poor people are poor. He doesn’t like to think that it’s because they’re lazy, so he runs around using the excuse that it is because they have to go to the Public Library to access the internet.

Tough shit for them. I hope they use the bus pass my tax dollars paid for accordingly to get these all-important “opportunites” afforded by the magic of the Information Superhighway (whose servers my tax dollars maintain). I hope they don’t get carpal-tunnel from “hitting the enter key” too much.

Not to be rude, but Rey Ramsey can kiss my ass before his loser sycophants get another penny of my money for their lifestyle choices.

Mr. Ramsey probably also supports illegal immigration, which will result in Islamo-Fascists blowing up our country, like my hero, Tom Tancredo, has irrefutably demonstrated in his new documentary. Should we give these terrorists internet access too, so they can learn how to make bombs that they can put in backpacks? My tax dollars can go towards more important things, like bombs to help Iraq and Iran.
