RNS Landscape of the Day

Mystery Lake Landscape.jpg

Guess where. Hint: it’s in the Western United States.

Okay, that’s not much of a hint. It’s in the Pacific Northwest.

Not enough? There’s a really big hint below the fold.

It’s in Oregon. And I’ve previously mentioned on this blog that I intend to move there.

By the way, there are houses along the near edge of the lake. Here’s one of them. (Warning: if you’re still guessing, the location is in the link).

Simply gorgeous. Living in Florida, you forget that the Earth really isn’t flat. I grew up in Georgia, so we had the foothills but no real big mountains like that.

Simply breath taking. How much do those houses go for?

Might want to change the filename and alt text of the image in the future, to prevent cheaters like me from… well… cheating ;).

That particular house in the link goes for $900,000 — it has 20 acres and a million-dollar view, but I do think that’s steep. Unfortunately, I’ve been watching it for at least the last year or so, and the price hasn’t dropped. So the owner isn’t under any pressure to sell.

Houses in the valley below are more “normal” at between $150 and $400k. And they have pretty much the same view for a lot less.
Check out http://www.wallowamountainproperties.com. This particular house’s showcased under their “Small Acreage” link.

Okay Linoge. Fixed the title. Cheater!

Holy crap! 150K? Great prices! Beautiful scenery, man. Looks like a nice place to spend ones golden years. Can’t wait to get me some property outside SoCal myself…
