on shipping ammunition to himself, via UPS.

Phil, (and the various Boomershoot gunbloggers under the tent) take note.

The sum of that whole post is simply this: Take the UPS Hazardous Material Support Center phone number with you when you go to a Customer Center.

    Said number is 800.554.9964.

  2. Ry Jones says:

Or ship it to someone close to the Boomershoot and have them bring it. I’ve had people ship ammo to a place in Moscow for years; I pick it up on my way through and deliver it to them. If you need an assist, ask me.

  3. Jeff says:

What happens if you just load it up in a box and ship it like you would a box of nuts and bolts?

  4. David says:

If it isn’t labeled “ORM-D” and comply with the other requirements, I suppose it could be confiscated and you might face other penalties as well.

  5. Josh says:

Kinda makes me glad I’m driving up for Boomershoot. Won’t have to worry about shipping ammo or checking guns. Although, at nearly 2500 miles round trip…

  6. WinMag says:

1100 rounds of 22-250 going to Montana next week as part of a Rodent Control program. I had already talked with a customer service center and got the straight scoop. They were very helpfull and did not freak out when someone mentioned “ammunition”. Of course I live in Mississippi, one of the reddest of red states.

  7. Phil says:

Hey WinMag, while it is doubtful that you’ll have any left over, what with the sheer number of Rodentia, I’ll be out there in August. Any that you leave will go to the “Teach Phil’s Nephews to Shoot” class I teach when I go out there.

Just wanting to save you the gas to bring them back, and all.

  8. David says:

Josh, looks like The Packing Rat and I will be driving up as well. If ya wanna rondy-vous and caravan, let us know. And if it’d be convenient for you to make an overnight pit stop in Livermore, mi casa, etc.

  9. Jeff says:

I guess this could happen to you if you don’t use the right label.

“An Alaskan inventor who never had so much as a traffic ticket was arrested, indicted and prosecuted by the feds because he failed to put the right sticker on a UPS package. He had no idea the sticker was required, and everything else about his shipment was perfectly legal.”
