I’ve told you in the past

That the City of Seattle is governed by morons.

And I have show you proof.

Here is more proof.

The city will be spending $75 Million ($23Mill over the original $52Mil estimate) on a street car/trolley set up on the south end of Lake Union. They want that part of town to go through a “metropolitanization” and they figured that this would be a good first step. Mayor Nickels being the Green Weenie he is thought that getting people out of their cars was more important that giving the homeless the boot.

My first piece of proof is that the original name for the trolley was the “South Lake Union Trolly”. Sounds simple and logical enough, doesn’t it? Break it down to acronym form. Yes, they changed it. I don’t remember what to and apparently neither does anyone else, because everyone still says they going to “Ride the S.L.U.T.”.

My second piece of proof is that during the Opening Day Festivites, guess what they gave away as free gifts: Nope, try again.

Nope.

Answer below the fold.

Bumperstickers.

I told you they were ignant.

  1. I gotta agree, the homeless are a much bigger problem. My wife used to work at the downtown Seattle Public Library and in one year, her attitude about the homeless went from “Oh those poor people have lost everything and need our help.” to “Get them smelly fuckers medicated up to their eyeballs and away from me until the are clean and either coherent or comatose.”

Too many off them pissing and shitting in the library, swearing at her, getting in her face, stalking her and her co-workers, getting aggressive and violent enough that security and the police had to be called almost daily. She actually wanted to start learning self defense and some basic martial arts just in case.

  2. Maybe if the homeless weren’t harassing everyone on the streets, folks would be more inclined to walk or ride the buses (bus stations being merely a place where the panhandlers have an audience standing still).
