Moonbat Naomi Klein posted up a new screed at The Huff-A-Ton Post (where the Castro-loving Danny Glover has a video up on the sidebar claiming Bush is Destroying the Constitution!).
The subject of her post is the fact that, according to Goldman Sachs, the venture capital markets are stronger in the Security sector than they are in the Green Energy sector. This is apparently completely mystifying to her.
Anyone tired of lousy news from the markets should talk to Douglas Lloyd, director of Venture Business Research, a company that tracks trends in venture capitalism. “I expect investment activity in this sector to remain buoyant,” he said recently. His bouncy mood was inspired by the money gushing into private security and defense companies. He added, “I also see this as a more attractive sector, as many do, than clean energy.”
Got that? If you are looking for a sure bet in a new growth market, sell solar, buy surveillance; forget wind, buy weapons.
The first thing Naomi the Naive is forgetting is that the first thing you always buy, in any circumstance, is weapons. Once you have a weapon, you can get just about anything you need. It is just plain common sense.
Secondly, Security has always outsold just about everything in that market, so the fact that it is outselling Solar/Wind/Moose Farts/Etc. in this age of al-Qiada should come as no surprise to anyone with a pair of braincells to rub together.
Hell, Mexico and Central America are suffering from their highest rates of kidnapping ever. I know that if I have a bunch of people looking for new ways to stop their loved ones from being snatched and held ransom for that year’s wages, I’d want to invest in a company that seemed to have an answer to that rather than in one who said they could make solar panels cheap, simply because solar panels are a luxury item. Security is like food, water and shelter.
Currently, only California forces people to install a mandated number of solar panels when they build their homes. Not enough of a market yet. Though I’m sure the legislator friends of Naomi Klein will be working on that in the not too distant future.
