So, back in May, long time King County Prosecutor, Norm Maleng passed away. A sad occasion for all involved, mostly because of the guy’s tenure in the position, but he was most likely a genuinely nice fellow. I don’t know, I never met the man.

So now were in the run-up to the election to find his replacement.

It’s been whittled down to a pair of guys, one (D) and one (R), with the (R) being Maleng’s former Assistant Prosecutor. I don’t care, I don’t live in the county any more.

But one of the guys, the Democratic candidate, says in this Times article, that Robert Kennedy was his “political hero”.

Now, take into account what he said. Then add in that the guy is running for the top Prosecutor spot in King County, Washington.

Still don’t get the laugh. OK then, add in the fact that very recently King County changed their namesake from former Vice President under President Franklin Pierce, William Rufus Devane King, to the Reverend Martin Luther King, JR.

Still don’t see teh funny? OK then, do you remember it coming out not so long ago that RFK was the guy who authorized the wiretapping of MLK’s phones for J. Edgar Hoover?

Got it. Excellent. My ribs are still hurting.
