We’re down here in Santa Cruz (the only dog-friendly hotel that wasn’t booked for the weekend was the Hilton; we’ll survive the stay, I think). Daughter’s birthday is St. Valentine’s Day (awwww) and she’s celebrating her 27th with a big tamale party. So we’re down here making fresh-caught wild boar tamales (and chicken and veggie tamales for the non-carnivores) and enjoying the gorgeous sunny day … but this weekend’s also the BIG SURF weekend and the Mavericks competition is ON, baby!
