I Want This Revolver

…and I suspect other members of the Random Nuclear Strikes crew will too.

The revolver’s from Lew Horton, and they make cool stuff.
I got to fondle it at the Lew Horton booth at SHOT. Video and writeup coming soon.

I wonder if they would be willing to put that on other things… Or arrange it that a set of CT grips would not cover it up :).

  2. Rivrdog says:

Bah! Nice engraving, but who wants to pay Smith’s price for their obviously-overpriced revolvers?

Both Charter Arms and Taurus make perfectly satisfactory revolvers for half the price or less, and Ruger’s SP101 is not only cheaper by a third, it is a better revolver to boot.

Pretty is nice, but stand by while I turn on the lights so we can all wake up from our wet dream, eh?

Ah Rivrdog, always standing by with a bucket of cold water…

  4. Rivrdog says:

    You nailed it, Mollbot

/Grins, headng for the spigot to refill the bucket/

BTW, Smiths have been overpriced for a long time. Back in ’73, I bought two revolvers, a Smith Mdl 60 for about $200 and a Ruger Security Six for $62.50, both new.

Both excellent revolvers. I don’t miss the Ruger since I have two others, but the Smith had an action job in it, and was smooth as butter. Looked into getting another one, but they are over $400 used, and the action job another $200 at least, so I’ve passed.

It has “Don’t tread on me” engraved on one sideplate, and a Clinton-mandated lock drilled into on the other?

Why not just engrave the tire tracks and call it even?

The problem with Charter Arms revolvers – at least as they are manufactured today – is that they suck.

Try this. Get their .38 snubby and sight on your target. Pull the trigger smoothly. Where did the sight picture go? Oh, I see – the hammer occludes the sight picture during part of its travel.

I do like the Bulldog .44 Special. But watch those sights!

Ruger SP101, yes, it is a good revolver, but it is what it is. A brick.
