They need volunteers

Though, apparently, not this badly

The teacher who went to prison and made international headlines for her affair with an underage student has been denied permission to work as a King County poll worker.

A spokesperson for King County Elections says Mary Fualaau, formerly Mary K. Letourneau, applied in April for possible training. She was scheduled for training later this month, but after going through the list of names, someone recognized hers. Fualaau has been disqualified as a poll worker for being a known felon.

I am simply stunned and amazed that a government agency discovered this mistake before the day of her training.

Must have been a volunteer.

At first I thought that with people having to be 18 to vote, they could at least keep her away from those under marrying age.

Then I remembered that a lot of polling places were at schools.

what polling places? Gregoire got rid of those.

Actually, Gregoire signed a bill allowing each county to get rid of them. My county now has none.
