I was happy to see

That the SCOTUS took Heller.

I thank David for posting it as I was under the influence of the Sandman when the news broke.

Hopefully it will end up that I have a reason to be thankful for that tomorrow.

Unfortunately, this guy is also happy the SCOTUS took Heller.

Paul Helmke: The Most Significant Second Amendment Case In History

Last March, the District of Columbia saw judicial activism replace the will of the people.

Today, with news that the U.S. Supreme Court has taken the appeal of DC v. Heller, the Justices can set things right.

Over 30 years ago, the elected representatives on the DC City Council decided to enact a system of strict gun laws to help protect public safety. The people in DC strongly support these laws. The District’s police strongly favor them as well.

The District’s decision has been attacked over and over again by outside interests more concerned with pleasing the gun lobby than respecting the will of the people. Some in Congress have tried multiple times to overrule the District’s preference for strict gun regulations, but have failed each time.

In case you hadn’t yet guessed or didn’t recognize the name, Helmke is President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership.

He is hoping that his misinterpretation of the 2nd Amendment will be vindicated by the SCOTUS in the upcoming months. Mr. Helmke and his sycophantic, gun bigot fellow travelers have killed more people with firearms than any street gang known to history with their pushing the restriction of law abiding citizens to own a tool for their own protection.

And he wants this policy to be law.

Personally, I don’t know how a person can count themselves as a human, and/or a Supreme Court Justice, if they do not believe in the basic human right of self defense.

Except those selfsame DC elected representatives have admitted that they did not enact the ban to lower crime, or save people’s lives, or anything of the nature… but, instead, to try and start a sweeping, country-wide movement to ban firearms universally.

Of course, since that is what Helmke is after himself, I guess it would stand to reason that he would misrepresent the situation as much as possible..
