I’m expecting the excuse “Well, at least they are paying the child prostitutes” any day now.
The UN is sending home more than 100 of the 950 Sri Lankan peacekeepers in Haiti, accusing them of sexual abuse, including with underage girls.
The UN said the troops had paid for sex and that some of the girls were minors.
UN peacekeepers have been involved in a series of sex-abuse scandals, including this year in Ivory Coast, where 800 were suspended.
And again, the organization with a multitude of sexual abusers gets away with nary a slap on the wrist from the “intellectuals”. The UN gets to keep their hands clean in the minds of those who wish for a world police force to keep peace at any cost through forked-tongue policies like this.
The organisation said it had a “zero tolerance” policy but it was up to the supplying nations to discipline troops.
And when you treat with third-world nations like they’re not third-world nations you don’t exactly get the cream of the crop. Which is exactly the excuse you’ll get from the “intellectuals” when it is discovered that the UN has left dozens, if not hundreds, of Abu Ghraib prisons around the planet. Only they’re not practicing with the dogs barking and fake torture.
The only reason you don’t know about these is that the folks running them can’t afford digital cameras.
A 2005 UN report suggested a central disciplining policy but member nations could not agree.

For years I had to listen to the daily newsheads yak about the Catholic Church and their scandals involving the church rotating child molesters around and hoping the Trinity would cure the “sick” priests.
But whenever something pops up about the UN and child sex pops up it’ll get one mention and then go away with few, if any, mentions of past horrors. I guess the MSM thinks that if one standard is good, two must be better.
Or maybe they just can’t see the world socialism promoted by the UN as a religion?

#1. The blue helmeted smurfs are not ‘peacekeepers’, their “watchers’, I believe they don’t even have bullets in their ‘peacekeeping’ guns, just radios, to pass on whats happening, so that it can be talked about until the problem magicly disappears, odd how that always works out, ain’t it?

60 yrs. The U.S. has been the only world police force on the block, along with some true blue friends of course, none of whom speak French…I think it’s time just to beg off and get out of the U.N.(United? in what way?), and send all the word manglers to ‘gay’

#2, if they are issued weapons, they are also issued ammunition. The catch is that they have to get permission directly from Turtle Bay before they can return fire. It is just to bad for the individuals on the ground that the satphones don’t work very well.
