  1. I all I could say is… “That’s Awesome!”

  2. DirtCrashr says:

I agree, and I’m in CA too! Too bad they can’t shut down San Francisco.

  3. Tom says:

    Another +1 for “That’s Awesome!”

Also, doesn’t CA get a bunch of it’s water from the Colorado River? Which flows through AZ first…

  4. Grumpy Old Ham says:

“If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation.”

    Translation:

“Go ahead, make my day, you asshat Villaraigosa…”

    Shack!

  5. Rivrdog says:

Shack, indeed, but a bit of cold reality. The Feds control all that power. Just because the dams and nuke power station are inside AZ does not mean that AZ can actually cut off that power. The best that AZ MIGHT be able to do is increase their share somewhat, but nowhere near the 25% figure of Los Angeles’ power that is being bandied about.

I suppose the AZ folk COULD do some sort of physical takeover, but that would only last a few hours before the Feds intervened with a LARGE US Marshal’s SWAT team or ten.

It’s all talk. At this point, hard to say how useful that talk is. AZ would be making more points talking about the tort of Unlawful Secondary Boycott which is being perpetrated by the minute. That COULD go to a RICO judgement, and enough damages awarded to bust LA back to the Stone Age.

While on this subject, didja see how badly Nobama stumbled through his words about the AZ law during his Rose Garden speaks with Calderon today? The Prez just couldn’t spit the words out. The TeleprompTer must have frozen.

    Enough letters, flip the switch!

  7. BadIdeaGuy says:

With all the debt that California’s accrued on dumb “green” energy projects that we (the rest of the nation) will eventually be on the hook for, why not give a little taste of reality. Sink or swim, bitches!

ps Sorry David, we’ll all kick in and send you some fuel to escape.

  8. Dave the RNS Photog says:

The Arizona commissioner who sent the letter to the LA mayor and city commission admitted that AZ could not turn off the lights in LA.
He challenged the LA mayor and city commission to stand by their “convictions” and boycott the power they receive from AZ as well.
He suggested that they sell it off to somewhere else and procure the necessary replacement power from a source other than AZ.
