The Soundboard: My Favorite Christmas Tunage

I hope you all have enjoyed the music that has been provided these past couple weeks. It is an acquired taste, but once you get that taste for it, it stays with you.

And that is how I found today’s tunage. I was buying bagpipe music, as is my wont, and found this one on an album that cost me less than eight bucks brand new. I have not since found a Christmas piping tune that, if it even has this song on it, can compare to the arrangement, artistry and expert musicianship that I found here.

The Greensleeves Jig

It starts out with Bethlehem (I think) arranged with acoustic guitar and some sort of woodwind instrument. Then just before the halfway point in the track it halts and moves swiftly into Greesleeves with the guitar again, the small bagpipes and a flute.

The festive recording set-up is perfect and catches everything.

And that is part of what makes it my favoritest Christmas tune. Give it a click and the Soundboard will be back again on Thursday.
