Memememememe

Barb from Righty in a Lefty State Blog dropped a meme on me, to list my five wierd habits, hence the title of this post.

So here we go:

1. I am meticulous about the cleanliness of my work desk, but hell will freeze over before I clean off the Blogstation RNS Seattle desk at my home.

I always have way too many things to do at work to be disorganized, whereas at home, I can slack as much as I want.

2. I am also meticulous about the cleanliness of my firearms. If I have nothing else to do, I go find a rifle or pistol with a speck of dust on it and tear it down. I cannot think of a time when my general purpose carry piece 1911 has never been completely torn down to be cleaned.

This stems from the frequent dreams I have of weapons failing; guns jamming, edged weapons getting stuck in whatever I made contact with. Most folks would call these nightmares, but I think they’re just there to remind me where my cleaning solvent and sharpening stones are at.

3. I usually wash my hands a minimum of once every half hour.

I don’t know how common this is, but my sweat is adhesive. On a hot day when I’m active, I can literally pick up my cellphone with a flat palm. I works nice for controlling a pistol and I’ve never dropped a mag during a change, but it makes my fingers stick together in a very annoying way when I’m doing just about anything else, especially typing.

4. Before I can lock a door I need to have the keys to said door in my hands and I need to look at them.

I’ve locked myself out of places I wanted to be one too many times in the past.

5. I am a recycle freak.

I work in the industry and I know what a complete myth recycling is, but nonetheless, I sort everything. Always have. Drives the wife nuts when she sees me pulling recyclables out of the trash toter. I love cutting boxes down so that I can get more into the bin. When the wife got her new TV, I spent ten minutes cutting the big ass box it came in down to around sixteen pieces that would fit in the toter.

And now, who to give this to?

Since he thought this would be interesting for me to do it, I’m tossing it to he who mans Blogstation RNS San Francisco, David.
