Illegal Labor Pool Drying Up

The front page of my local paper (the Tri-Valley Herald, which covers the valleys in the East San Francisco Bay Area) had this article this morning.

Seems that the recent stepped-up border enforcement efforts may be having an effect. (Jayson of Polipundit has been tracking these — see more here, here, and here) — ’cause stories about enforcement success are definitely under-reported in the MSM.)

Hey, if the labor pool shrinks, seems to me that surviving growers will have to pay higher wages. If so, shouldn’t Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta et al. have been pushing for effective border control all along, instead of organizing futile strikes?
