Delirious

After Pelosi’s lap dog of a male specimen, John “Total Crap” Murtha, was trounced in the voting for House Majority Leader, the looney left are not only refusing to lick their wounds, but are actively trying to ignore them.

Arianna Huff-a-ton:

It bodes well for Pelosi that was willing to spend her political capital right off the bat — especially on the issue that will define her time at the helm. Far too many modern politicians save their political capital until it’s lost all its value.

Yes, and lets hope that she has none of said capital left when Rangel gets ready to push his gun control agenda.

David Sirota:

But the win-win nature of Pelosi’s intervention in the leadership race isn’t just limited to sending a message to Steny Hoyer. She has also won today because she has sent a message to the entire Democratic Caucus by letting every Member know that there will be unpleasant consequences to Hoyer-esque Democratic disloyalty. Though Hoyer won the election, you can bet he didn’t enjoy having a spirited opponent. Every single member of the Democratic Caucus now knows that when they behave the way Hoyer behaved in the past, they may face similar pain.

So, I guess the message that Pelosi sent to the entire caucus is that she’s one of those “Payback is a bitch” bitches, then?

If not, then I guess I don’t understand Democrat politics. I would see having the guy whom I endorsed getting his ass trounced by a majority of nearly two-thirds as a rebuke of my agenda.

But then again, I’m sane.

FYI, I was half-heartedly rooting for Murtha. His pro-corruption attitude and lack of photogenics would have made the Repubs look absolutely stellar.

I wonder

If that tin foil makes his head sweat?

Seattle uber-leftblogger, Goldy, thinks that there is more to the rising gasoline prices than meets the eye.

High gas prices were an affront and a hardship that voters angrily faced every day, and so it was with some suspicion that I watched gas prices inexplicably plummet a national average of 75 cents a gallon during the final two months leading up to the election. I’m not a big fan of conspiracy theories, but if oil industry executives wanted to do their best to prop up the corporatist-sponsored Republican leadership… this was a great way to do it.

And now that election day has passed? Hmm. Well I don’t know about your neighborhood, but prices here in South Seattle started rising within days, and are already up as much as a dime a gallon at some stations.

I have to guess that in his ejaculations over the Dem wins on November 7th, he missed the news stories about crude oil prices started going up by at least a dime a barrel nearly every day starting on that day.

When your party, the one that wants to ignore Iran, the one wants to let Iraq sink into a full-blown civil war and not just the one now being staged for the media, the one that wants to dump billions of dollars of taxes and fees onto the oil and gas industy and regulate said industry into a corner, when that party gets its hands on the Legislative Branch of government, people get nervous.

If I were in the oil and gas industry, I’d start raising my prices too. Lawyers cost money.

The Soundboard: Dancing with Herself

Alternate title: She don’t love me, she loves my mp3 collection.

As I mentioned yesterday, today’s Soundboard tunage relates to a new invention called the “gPod”. If you weren’t here yesterday (tsk, tsk) then you should read up. Otherwise this is going to get kinda weird.

Are we all together now? OK then.

Obviously, with our knowledge of the new device, we can tell that any tunage will do the trick (except for that weenie ‘Emo’ crap), but probably only once or twice. It takes something more, mmm….intense, to be included in the “repeat shuffle” file. By intense, I speak of the frequencies on the lower end of the scal, 150hz and less.

Now that we know what were looking for, let’s talk about what we should avoid:

It is at this point that I warn that it gets a bit campy below the fold. Beware! If you do not have a sub hooked up, you will just hear a bit of random noise, a number of pauses, some samples and a few high-hats. If you only have a small, four or five inch sub hooked up, you’ll only hear down to around the 70hz mark and will miss some of the good stuff. Put your foot on the box. Don’t bother turning up the bass in your audio player EQ, you’ll just fuzz it up.

For the audiophiles, Enjoy!

Also Beware! Below gets sappy. For those weak of heart in that respect, just click on the highlighted links and hold on.

If they would only pay attention

Then they would know why the question was asked.

The blogging left wants CNN TV personality, Glenn Beck’s, head right about now. Examples here, here and here.

Beck was interviewing CAIR’s candidate in Minnesota, now Representative-elect, Keith Ellison (aka Keith Ellison-Muhammed, aka Keith X Ellison) for the channel’s Headline News program when he asked Ellison if he could “have five minutes here where we’re politically incorrect”. Ellison agree and Beck asked him the following

Sir, prove to me you are not working with our enemies.

Was the question over the top? Maybe just a bit, but it was not uncalled for.

Ellison has conections to the Nation of Islam going back to the late-80’s and takes campaign contributions from CAIR (Center for American Islamic Relations), an organizationknown for its ties to and funding of terrorism. See links at DANEgerus (here and here) for said facts.

But no one on the left knows about these because they live in a media vaccum, where they are kept ingorant so that when an over the top question is asked, they can faithfully scream out with the “Racism!” card (see above links for examples of the use of said card).

That Old Double Standard

The bloggard left is up in arms over the story that someone connected to Fox News may have paid up to $2Million to speed the release of Steve Centanni and Olag Wiig, with John Avarosis of the AmericaBlog going so far as to say

And the Bush administration, they were heavily involved in this effort to free the FOX reporters – were they aware that someone was paying off terrorists? Were they the ones who arranged payment? This is abominable if true.

When I did a search of AmericaBlog, I found no mention of previously “captured” Italian psuedo-reporter and avowed America hater, Giuliana Sgrena. No surprise, though. Iit wouldn’t be like Avarosis to actually report real news anyway. But I decided to refrain from searching other left-wing blogs on the subject in order to not embarass him by showing how his side of the sphere came down on the side of funding al Qaeda in Iraq to get a terrorist sympathizer out of the clutches of actual terrorists.

Speaking of Fox News, a memo from their VP was “exposed” by HuffPo (here) in which he directs the news crews to look into “What is the Dem plan for Iraq?”, “be on the lookout for any statements from the Iraqi insurgents” cheering the Dem win last week, and report on the Democrat in-fighting during the Hoyer/Murtha vote for House Majority Leader spot.

Yawn.

These are stories I’d be interested in, and suspect that a large portion of the American news watching public would be as well.

But Cenk Uygur, of “The Young Turks” radio show fame, thinks this is reason enough to demand the firing of Fox News VP, John Moody.

In fact, he compares this memo from Moody to the removal of Dan Rather from the CBS Newsdesk when Rather used forged documents. I swear, if these people could analogize, they be dangerous.

Now, if Moody had pulled an Eason Jordan and claimed that Democrats were killing jounalists on purpose, then he should have been made to step down. But for doing his job, no fooking way.

Ok, now stop laughing. The leftists are delusional for a reason.

What that reason is is beyond me, but that is the rumor I heard on Fox News.

Score!

The Mom just called to let me know what was on the front page of the Olympia, WA newspaper.

Cabela’s deal in Lacey sealed

Outdoors retailer Cabela’s will announce this morning that it intends to build a 185,000-square-foot showroom in Hawks Prairie, City Manager Greg Cuoio said.

mapoly.jpg

The announcement that Cabela’s will submit a development application ends months of negotiations between the Nebraska-based company and the property owner, Hawks Prairie LLC, on a project that is projected to create more than 600 full-time-equivalent jobs, draw at least 1.8 million out-of-state tourists into Thurston County each year and funnel $5.4 million in tax revenue into state, county and city coffers annually.

Like I don’t already have enough places to spend my money unwisely.

Yay!

Good with a Hammer

You can tell because he nails it.

Puggs the Grey found a piece by Amanda Platell in the UK’s Daily Mail where she compares Bush to Borat (don’t worry, I’m waiting until it comes out on video too).

Platell cracks a couple good ones on Bush, but then sees the light of why doing so isn’t the best idea

In mocking Bush and deliberately distorting his values, we risk pandering to the fanatics’ portrayal of the President as the pantomime villain of global politics, a blood-sucking monster who rejoices in the deaths of innocents and the destruction of Muslim homelands.

This at a time when M15 chief Eliza Manningham-Buller warns us there are 200 terror cells at work here and 30 high-priority plots to wreak mayhem and murder on our streets.

For all Baron Cohen’s implicit cultural superiority, when it comes down to a real challenge against our freedom, the only country that counts is America.

Britain might have the most advanced sense of humour in the world, but we couldn’t fight our way out of a paper bag without America’s help, let alone against an Al Qaeda onslaught.

Puggs continues in good form, as always

How many democrats who delighted in these jokes, woke up after election day to see how Al Qaeda and Iran were congratulating them on winning and beginning the unilateral surrender of America… and sat there in shock? Angry, pissed that the enemies of the United States saw them as advocating surrender? We tried to tell you, but you said it was hate politics….

Well the enemy did congratulate you.

So you can lay off the rethoric of partisan bashing, act in our best interests and learn from it. Learn that evil doesn’t care how you use their words, just that you do.

On one final note, I’d just like to point to our fine progressive, David Neiwert, for a leftist’s explanation as to why al Qaeda cheering a Dem win doesn’t mean that the left is helping them

Hindrocket wonders, “Are Terrorists the Democrats’ Biggest Fans?”

Gee, I dunno, do you suppose the Iranian hostage takers were Ronald Reagan’s biggest fans back in 1980?

The same radical Islamists Bob Gates reportedly held secret negotiations with during the 1980 campaign?

Yes folks, there you have it: Bargaining for the lives of fellow Americans is morally equivalent to an election win in which your main campaign promise was to let the terrorists have Iraq as their playground.

As Ben said previously: Don’t think about that for too long, otherwise your brains will leak like shit out of your ears.
