New York Times columnist, Maureen Dowd, actaully had a semi compliment for Bush in her latest column,

I sat next to a presidential gag writer, Landon Parvin. He was saying jokes work best when Republicans make fun of Republicans and Democrats make fun of Democrats.

President Bush, looking spiffy in white tie and tails, swung by to talk to Mr. Parvin. He didn’t look my way, but proceeded back up to the dais.

Suddenly, W. turned around, stopped and looked right at me. Then he flashed a wink, not a flirty wink but a mischievous Clark Gable “I’ve got your number and you think you’ve got mine but I win” wink.

The Interested Participant made the following observation,

I wonder. By conjuring up the image of tall, dark, handsome Clark Gable in a wink of George Bush’s eye, is Dowd growing soft on the President? Does she now subconsciously see him as a sexy, leading man rather than a political adversary? Can we expect some kinder, gentler words from Dowd when she writes of the Bush administration? Maybe next we’ll see some words about George Bush’s broad shoulders and his disarming smile.

As much as I’d like to think ‘yes’, it just makes me laugh so I’m afraid I’m going to have to agree with his next statement,

Nah! On second thought, probably not.

Pissed her Life Away Supporting Terrorists

I apologize for being a day or two late in writing about the parents of Washington’s most famous terrorist supporter, Rachel Corrie, suing Israel, the IDF and Caterpillar in retribution for St. Pancake’s clumsy death while trying to dissuade the IDF from digging up ‘palestinian’ smuggling tunnels along the border with Egypt.

I was listening to this left wing freakjob last night on the local AM radio and got to hear the full whine and cheese story from Corrie’s mom.

I am just glad I ate my lunch before she got on the air, because after listening to her for a half an hour and then the calls from Israel haters for an hour after that and then the left wing freakjob’s simultaneous putting down of US soldiers in Iraq while praising Corrie’s death as ‘For A Noble Cause’, I doubt I could have eaten anything last night.

But since I am a remembering type of fellow, I will once again present my own personal artwork commemorating the day that “Ms. D-9 for 2003” slipped, tripped and went squish.

Oh, THAT Liberal Media!

In this WaPo article, Jonathon Weisman writes on and on about how bad the numbers are for Bush’s ‘Private Accounts for Socail Security’ plan.

You know that plan, the one doesn’t exist anywhere on paper yet?

But if you look a little earlier in the day at the WaPo, you’ll find this article that says everything Weisman is saying, but also contains this tidbit of information,

But the public also overwhelmingly supports – by a margin of 56% – 41% – “a plan in which people who chose to could invest some of their Social Security contributions in the stock market”.

I wonder why Little Johnny would have left that part out? Could it be that he only wanted to expound the BAD opinions of Bush’s idea?

Why, I think that may be exactly the reason!

No sense of history

DANEgerus had a left wing friend of his send him a pic of Karl Rove’s head cut and pasted on top of Goebbels body as a joke.

The Dane responds as follows,

Actually the invocation of Godwin’s Law is an attempt to silence actual exploration of the true roots of the National Socialist German Workers Party, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, NSDAP, better known as the Nazis. Their ideological roots are in Socialism, a left wing collectivist ideology, which was a rival for the votes of the unemployed and unions workers of Germany on the model of the Black-shirts of Mussolini’s Socialist party.

Fasce means ‘bundle’ as in strength through the binding together of individuals.

Which is classic Left wing ideology.

The reason this sort of humor is so sad is that it is a reflection of the failure of the collectivists to examine their own shortcomings. Orwell was a Communist who realized that in fact to impose ‘fair’ required an elite few that would ‘judge’ creating a slippery slope to authoritarianism.

Which is why it is also ironic that in fact Orwell warned of the excesses of the ‘Left’ wing… yet is so frequently quoted by Leftists who so misunderstand his warnings.

I wonder how bad the Dane’s friend feels after being shown how he has been brainwashed.

OK, I really don’t. I’m just laughing my ass off here.

In this post from yesterday, I questioned the legitimacy of a reported set of notes from a Handgun Control Inc meeting in 1993.

I’m glad I did. Joe Huffman, organizer and host of the Boomershoot confirms my skepticism by reminding me of where I’d seen it before.

He also includes some very good links to legitimate pieces from groups such as Join Together, The Brady Campaign and the VPC.

You should read all of these and cut and paste them into Word and save them on your computer for use in your next online gun control discussion.

Go Directly to Jail

A Prattville woman Tuesday was charged with planting nude images of her child in her ex-husband’s home, just one day after police accused her of conspiring to kill the man over a custody dispute, law enforcement officials said.

Shannon Marie Lorenzo, 32, is accused of breaking into her ex-husband’s home and taking a picture of her 2-year-old child naked while holding an erotic toy. She is also accused of planting other images of child pornography, officials said.

She is charged with two counts of permitting a child to engage in production of obscene material, one count of possession of obscene material, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder, officials said. She also faces burglary and theft charges, some unrelated to the case involving her ex-husband, Chad Baker.

“This is definitely not the way to resolve a custody dispute,” District Attorney Randall Houston said.

Jeez, you think so Randy? Did they teach you that in Attorney school?

Maybe you should think about mandating some therapy for this broad as well as NEVER LETTING HER SEE HER CHILD AGAIN FOR THE NEXT 16 YEARS.

The GLBT community in America complains about not being able to get their emotions protected under the Bill of Rights.

In the socialist utopia of Castro’s Cuba, member of the GLBT community are fighting just to survive.

The castro regime has instituted another “Dignity” round up. This time young men, teens, who are well dressed and don jewelry are being picked up in Havana for being suspiciously homosexual, among other things, and taken to the Cobinado del Este Prison.

And yet they still bitch.

If the Networks Want to Win During Sweeps

They should get this show on

Iraq’s wildly popular new television show features a nightly parade of men, most with bruised faces, confessing to all kinds of terrorist and criminal acts.

“Terrorism in the Hands of Justice” is the Iraqi government’s slick new propaganda tool. Its televised confessions, the police say, aim to discredit the armed resistance and advertise the government’s success at cracking down on gangs.

First up, we should do this for pedophiles, then rapists, then drunk drivers. We can work on getting enviro-fascists in there too, but only if they give up their cohorts.

Of course, Ian at Inoperable Terran thinks we should send Paris Hilton over there to spice up their show.

I could go for that.
