First up, Metal Storm is just bound and determined to get it’s gimmick on a battlefield somewhere, this time with a better mine field. I actually like this idea, sensors are a lot cheaper than actual mines, unexploded ordinance is easily and safely recovered for use elsewhere, and you don’t have bad PR for the next 20 years as kids and farmers find your old mines.
Next up, move over varnish (and shellac, and lacquer, and etc.), liquid glass is better. This just sounds like fun, I hope it comes out soon and in an easy to apply form.
I just read some of the comments from the liquid glass link. How on Earth some of those monosynaptic droolers get up of a morning without strangling in their jammie tops is amazing. They seem to be able to make words, too bad most have a real issue with figuring out what the words in the article really said. Most of ’em must be kolij perfasorrs.
