When you let anti-civil rights editorialists spout off at the mouth about topic of which they know nothing.
Teddy Roosevelt couldn’t bring a gun into Yellowstone National Park, but soon anyone with a permit will be able to shoulder a shotgun as they watch Old Faithful erupt.
Along the rim of the Grand Canyon, rifle-toting visitors will stand next to unarmed tourists from abroad. While Civil War re-enactors will still flock with their historic muskets to the Gettysburg battlefield in Pennsylvania, modern-day militiamen will be able to retrace Pickett’s Charge carrying modern-day weapons.
Umm, no Ms. Stone.
People who are licensed to carry concealed handguns will be able to do so within the boundaries of the law and their permit.
But way to bring on the PSH!
Ummmm…..Yellowstone wasn’t a National Park until Roosevelt had it made into one.
Not actually true. Yellowstone National Park was established by Congress and signed into law by US Grant in 1872. T.R. was alive then, but I don’t believe he was involved in politics when he was fourteen years old.
Actually, Wyoming has an open carry law so an individual will be able to open carry in Yellowstone.
Teddy wanted to shoot a mountain lion at Yellowstone, since rangers (or rather Buffalo Soldiers, IIRC) at the time regularly shot predators.
An advisor talked him out of it.
