I gotta ask

How many fellow gunnies do you know, who carry regularly, have ever lost track of a carry gun outside of the home?  There is something seriously wrong with a person who forgets that they had a pound or two of plastic and steel hanging from the belt just a few minutes ago.

None, never. HHSFCB?! 179 improperly stored! Some of that’s a higher issue. I mean who issues an M4 (and shotgun) to a guy and doesn’t see that there is (or provide some) proper storage?

Nope, never lost one, but after trying IWB and belt carry and receiving less than happy feedback, I switched to pocket carry only.

This is another result of hiring accountants and phsych majors to perform law enforcement instead of military veterans.

It’s also a result of just having far more folks out there with guns and badges on the taxpayers dime as a percentage of the citizenry than we used to.

Violent crime is at the lowest rates, nation wide, that we’ve seen for 30 years, so what’s the need for all those coppers out there? Three letter state & federal agencies seem to be sprouting SWAT teams like crab grass! Like we need more no knock raids…

Let’s keep funding and maintain high quality local, and county peace officers, and cut the state and federal pork!

I once lost track of one IN my home. Had my .45 strapped on to an IWB, came home and put it back into the strongbox. Then promptly forgot that I did that, and proceeded to search virtually the entire house plus the car…then thought to check the strongbox.

No harm done, thankfully, but that kind of brainfart is pure irresponsibility. I simply wasn’t paying attention, and was acting by rote. At least “rote” means “put the piece in the metal box so that my kids don’t shoot it” – but paying close attention to a lethal weapon one owns is far better.
