More Oregonians will get concealed weapons permits in 2008 than in any year since tallies began in 2000.
The Oregon State Police say sheriffs reported 115,600 permits for the first 11 months of 2008, with estimates of another 10,000 expected in December.
The total for 2007 was 97,227 permits, the highest previous annual number.
Somebody show these numbers to the Bradys and tell them the NRA lost this election.
I’ve been telling the few unpermitted people left that I know to get their permits now before the dot gov tries to make getting them illegal. My guess is that explains the rush to sheriff’s offices all over the state: folks just don’t trust the Big O in these parts, unless it has a Duck bill attached, anyway…
