This is important — John Annoni, the fellow with the next-highest vote total, although an amazing guy, was used by CBS reporter Cynthia Bowers to illustrate that hunters had nothing to fear from John Kerry’s gun control proposals:
John Annoni doesn’t need to worry about new gun control legislation because the fact of the matter is nobody’s talking about outlawing the kinds of guns he and his students use.
I don’t know that Mr. Annoni would agree with that assessment as he was quoted as being against new gun control legislation — but as Bane notes, it would be a powerful message to send to the outdoor sports industry if we voted the head of DPMS as Sportsperson of the Year.

Yeah, but realistically the readers of Outdoor Life would not vote for him. It would ignite the whole “is .50 BMG enough gun for elk?” debate, too. 🙂
