Stompin’ Termites

We had our annual termite swarm today. Every year at this time, from a hidden lair somewhere nearby, they hatch and boil about on the ground in clumps of a few hundred or so. Usually I don’t get to see it happening until they’ve started flying in short hops and are covering our patio furniture. Today, my wife spotted ’em first and I was able to walk up on the hillside and smear each of the ten or so piles with my booted heels. Crushing the swarms of little brainless insects that want to use the power of their numbers to eat me out of house and home felt gooood.

Just talkin’ insects here. That’s all.

Charcoal starter fluid + match :).

1 cup of disk soap in 1 gallon of water. Mix well and spray on the little bastards. The soap lets the water seal up their breathing pores and they suffocate.

This also works on bee swarms (knocks them down immediately) without the sprayed bees releasing the alarm pheromones that trigger a mass attack.
