So now it comes out that some branch of the Iraqi security forces may have caught Zarqawi last year, but didn’t recognize him and let him go.
Not the best PR story out there, but shit like this happens.
On the ever vomit inducing Daily Kos, newly minted front page Kos Kid ‘georgia10’ says,
“You’d think part of that training Bush claims so many Iraqi battalions have received would include maybe showing them Zarqawi’s picture, hell, even using it as target practice.â€?

US military personnel aren’t even allowed to put women’s underwear on the heads of prisoners as a gag. Imagine if the newsmedia reported that we’re using pictures of living humans to train the Iraqis. Even if the pictures were of Zarqawi, they’d write stories about how we need to apologize to al Qaida and the Democrats would be demanding that we lower the bounty on his head as a sort of fig leaf for teaching the Iraqis to be ‘killing machines’,
Hanoi Jane already says that about our own soldiers so the stretch wouldn’t be too difficult for the Dems.
