As we continue in the search for my next secretary, I would just like to inform you all that, judging from the emails I received yesterday in response from my call for help, Stephanie is currently in the lead. I would like to thank those who have cast their preliminary votes and hope that you do so again today.
Today we have a new set to choose from and we’ll see how you all like these applicants.
Girl #4 is Angela
The sister of one of my former student, Angela is a classically trained pianist. This skill gives her very agile fingertips, as was evident during the interview. Her employment history includes cashiering at Nordstrom’s and working the front desk of a non-profit housing assistance charity.
In the hot-tub portion of the interview we spoke a great deal about her love of the Russian composers, who are also my favorites. At least I won’t have to worry about her being offended by my nude ballroom dancing classes.
Girl #5 is Bethany
Bethany is the college level Mid-Western Division Typing Champion for the class of 2002. She is also skilled in ballet and Turkish cuisine. I had many questions for her, not the last of which was how she had managed to tie those wonderful leggings. She answered them all very impressively and also demonstrated her legging tie technique. Twice.
I was a bit disappointed in how easily distracted she was though. The running squad of the topless track and field team was passing by when I captured this image. She said that her university did not have anything comparable to that. I suppose not. What a pity.
And last but certainly not least, Girl #6 is Kagome
While not being exceptionally fluent in English, Kagome has a working knowledge of the language that I think will suffice. She is still currently working on her citizenship testing requirements but hopes to take the oath in the next couple of years.
I was deeply impressed by her willingness to lead by example. During her interview, my temporary receptionist from the university pool came in with a question which Kagome was not only able to answer, but was able to demonstrate to the other girl.
As you can see by the image, she seemed to want to start right then and there, taking my favored seating position for my receptionist without even having to be told.
This could prove interesting.
