RNS Quote of the Day

Today, this principle (the protection of individual rights) is forgotten, ignored and evaded. The result is the present state of the world, with mankind’s retrogression to the lawlessness of absolutist tyranny, to the primitive savagery of rule by brute force.

In unthinking protest against this trend, some people are raising the question of whether government as such is evil by nature and whether anarchy is the ideal social system. Anarchy, as a political concept, is naïve floating abstraction: a society without an organized government would be at the mercy of the first criminal who came a long and who would precipitate it into the chaos of gang warfare.

He Likes Me!

He really likes me!

Randy, our homophobic troll is back in my mail box.

Not content to threaten me physically, he has decided that maybe a short order of blackmail is better suited to his quest.

Randy did some not-even-half-assed research and discovered some information on the previous owner of RNS. As most of you know, RNS used to be owned by Nukevet Neal. The good doctor got overwhelmed in the real world and had to back off from blogging for a while. During that time, he offered me the deed to the fortress and I gladly accepted, finding it cheaper than therapy.

Since then, the blogging bug has occasionally hit Doc and he set himself up some new digs over at Life in the Atomic Age to do some random stuff other than nuclear striking.

The Doc has always been open as to what he does and where he does it, even setting up a FAQ section at LitAA.

Randy, on the other hand, seems to think he has gathered up some sort of Top Secret info and is demanding that the old registration info be removed, or else he is going to personally call the useless Governor of Louisiana whose name escapes me at the moment and tell her that one of her state university professors runs “A Hate Blog. He originally gave me until the 21st of this month to run screaming from his attempt at intimidation and I let him know that he could start dialing today if he wanted to in my return email.

Yeah, Randy is a drama queen.

I let the Doc know about Randy’s dementia when I gave him Randy’s IP address and I hadn’t heard a hearty laugh like that in a while. Of course, it could just be Doc’s Texas accent that I’m not used to.

But back to Randy; he has seen fit to let me off the hook and not sue me for publishing his previous email, for which I am forever grateful (can you smell the sarcasm?).

I have also informed Randy that because most homophobes are just closeted gay men that I think he is in love with me, having found some photo of me from my Porn Star Racing Team days (when I wasn’t called The Kid, if you get my drift).

So let’s see if I can set Randy off again on another one of his tirades in my email box.

Who wants his email address?

I’d put it here on the front page, but that would just lead to him having to delete a lot of spam when the bots get to it. Now, I want nothing but kind, personal and loving emails sent to Randy as he is a special kind of fella. Chuckle

Special Ed, that is.

So if you have a special message you want to send to Randy, either leave a comment here and a way for me to get your email addy or click on the ‘Email Me’ tab just below the search box for my addy and we’ll show Randy, the Rappin Retard what love is.

Watch for the headlines

On this bit of news

The Army released the October recruiting results on Wednesday. The active Army exceeded its goal of 4,700new soldiers by 225people, beating mission by 5 percent. The Reserve tallied an impressive 21 percent above the goal of 1,242 sign-ups by getting 1,505 people to join.

The National Guard topped mission by 2 percent, bringing in 4,050 new soldiers. The Guard goal was 3,970 enlistments.

OK, maybe you shouldn’t watch for the headlines. If you do, you’ll just waste a lot of time.

RNS Quote of the Day

The fundamental difference between private action and governmental actions – a difference thoroughly ignored and evaded today – lies in the fact that a government holds a monopoly on the legal use of physical force. It has to hold such a monopoly, since it is the agent of restraining and combating the use of force; and for that very same reason, its actions have to be rigidly defined, delimited and circumscribed; no touch of whim or caprice should be permitted in its performance; it should be an impersonal robot, with the laws as its only motive power. If a society is to be free, its government has to be controlled.

Boots-on-the-ground-view Sitrep — Bogus?

Earlier, I posted a link to a report from a Marine on weapons, tactics, etc. in Iraq. Now there’s some question as to the authenticity of the report. Click here and scroll down to Letter from “Doug Carlton” Re: Discrediting the Lessons from the Big Sand Box: Firearms, Gear, and Tactics in Iraq Letter which begins:

Jim:
Unless you can actually verify the identity of the author of the “Firearms, Gear, and Tactics in Iraq” e-mail, then it is bogus.

Please, Ignore Our Input!

Last Friday in the Barely Governor Gregiore loyal Seattle Times, columnist Danny Westneat comes out of the closet as ignorant of democracy.

Westneat says that if we Washingtonians would just look at how the socialist government of Canada makes their transit choices and decisions, we’d all be a lot better off in his column “It’s Time We Curb Votes On Transit.

Yes, you read that correctly, he wants voters left out of the loop on transit and tax issues completely and have the whole issue decided by a committee. We The People are just too stupid to know what is good for us.

This idea was seconded by local Dem blogger, Goldy, at RonSimsAss.Org. Goldy thinks that it would be an excellent example of representative government.

I guess that Westneat and Goldy are so blinded by their partisian political beliefs that they refuse to see that most of the government entities in the Puget Sound region are the opposites of King Midas in that everything they touch turns to shit.

I wonder how trusting these two simpletons would be of a local government with the same track record as the current entities have if they were run by Republicans? It is not as if the local Democrats have proven themselves to be trustworthy, so why should I believe that they would decide on the most effective transit option and then not waste my tax money on something ignorant while building it?

October E-Postal Match Results

In a surpising turn of events, the October Edition of the e-Postal Match series was a bigger flop than Eddie Murphy’s singing career.

It is probably at least partially my fault for not posting on it after posting the task, or it may have been the intimidation factor of the set of targets.

Either way, we only had two entries, and that is counting mine.

So the results for the match are:

Rifle:

Analog Kid: 90/100 – 100yds .308Win

Pistol:

Mr. Completely: 100/100 – 10yds 22LR

Congrats Mr. C!

Speaking of the guy who sets up the pistol e-Postals, he has had a rules modification on his October pistol task you might want to take advantage of. I know that I might.

The November rifle e-Postal task will be posted in the coming days, so watch out for that.

You’ll be “Taking Down Tom.

RNS Quote of the Day

The necessary consequence of a man’s right to life is his right to self-defense. In a civilized society, force may only be used in retaliation and only against those who initiate its use. All of the reasons which make the initiation of physical force an evil, make the retaliatory use of physical force a moral imperative.

11/11 AAR

The Analog Mom reports that the Veteran’s Day activities in her locale went off without a hitch and even got the weather to break.

Veterans Day 006.jpg

Mom lives in a “retirement community” in a town near me. No kids there, no dogs over 20lbs there and damn straight no one under 55 allowed to reside there.

These fine gentlemen residents sent the colors up, gave their respects and then brought them down before the weather turned ugly again.
