Sadly, it is no longer part of the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim.
But I can at least still watch it on You Tube.

Some folks like the older stuff.
Others only like the last album (posers?).
Myself, I’m only truly moved when this album is played at full volume.

And now for a little bit of fun speculatory sacrilege.
I am of the opinion that the Ladies’ Choice, Mr. Cornell, got too Marx for History Major, Mr. Thayil. History shows what Marx does to peoples, and I know Kim’s got too many morals to be able to ignore that.
What are your crackpot theories about the demise of Soundgarden?
Rob at the Say Anything blog was asked why he was a drug addict by his own child after her day of indoctrination at a public school anti-drug program.
The other day I picked my daughter up and, while driving home, was talking to her about what she’d been doing in school (she’s in the 1st grade). She told me that it was “red ribbon week†in her school and that they’d talked about how drugs were bad. Which was ok with me, until she started telling me about which drugs were bad.
My little girl told me that cigarettes and alcohol were both drugs, and then wanted to know why I did drugs. Because I have the occasional beer at home, I guess.
I find this “mission creep†in the school’s anti-drug efforts a little irritating. I realize that smoking isn’t healthy and, to a much lesser extent, neither is drinking alcohol really (depending on the level of your intake). But the thing is that those activities are legal, yet they’re being lumped in with things like cocaine, heroin and meth. And I have to tell you, it was a little hard to explain to my confused six-year-old that daddy having a beer on Friday night wasn’t quite the same as shooting up a bunch of heroin.
That is because to her brainwashers, a heroin addiction and a Friday night beer are the same things. They will teach what they believe, and your child will believe what they teach.
Because you told them to listen to a stranger.
Calling this kind of indoctrination “Mission Creep” is an understatement of magnitude.
Rob doesn’t mention it in his post, but I do wonder if he questioned his daughter about what questions about the parents were asked of the children? Was his daughter asked about his habits?
And if she was, would she tell him, or was she told not to tell?
As to why the left should never be given charge of our nation’s foreign policy.
Pakistan is having some very tough times right now. The media is all over it while ignoring items such as this in the country of Venezuela, which they approve of the dictator snatching up all the power he can.
Bush and Rice each have a few words with Musharraf, and he backs off from his stnad a bit, setting firm dates for Parliamentary elections.
From the Lieberman hating FireDogLake blog frontpager, TRex, take the low-grade high school view of Bush’s message to Musharraf
Bush’s words
I just spoke to President Musharraf before I came here, and my message was very plain, very easy to understand. And that is: The United States wants you to have the elections as scheduled and take your uniform off.
Damn, George. Aren’t you going to ask him out to dinner first?
A nation whose military arsenal contains nuclear missiles and a strong presence of Taliban in the outer regions, and she wants to make jokes.
She probably thinks Bhutto, who is under house arrest. would find it funny.
I’m sure that by now you have all seen Michael Yon’s beautiful picture of the Iraqi Christians putting up their cross

The Populist blog noted that “The silence from the left has been absolutely deafening.”
Well, I guess the guy cannot be everywhere, because by the end of the day, Oliver Willis (Occupation: Toole) had this to say about that wonderful moment
Am I alone in thinking that people putting up a Christian cross in Iraq is not, in fact a sign that “we’re winning” but rather likely to turn out to be the site of the next bomb site in Iraq? In case you haven’t noticed, they take their religion pretty hardcore.
You know, some folks just can’t get over being wrong.
But life keeps getting in the way.
I got home from the workout this morning to find little big man Russell in a serious state of “distress”.
Basically, he couldn’t walk without whimpering.
So we whimpered him to the car and then off to the vet’s office where we found that he seriously overdid it, whatever “it” may have been. Hopefully it was more amorous intentions like last time.
So, after a steroid shot and an anti-inflammatory, and maybe something else to help ease the ouch, Russell has been ordered on two weeks of “not moving a whole lot”.
Like this
After this first week of working out, I’m whimpering quite a bit too. Good thing I think most doctor’s offices smell like sickness and/or death. or I might be asking for two weeks off as well.
Anyway, music tomorrow, not today. Must sleep. Also, possibly a report on my new favorite cartoon.
Have a nice day.
That was more of a morning than I was bargaining for.
Went and did the workout thing, then off to the optometrist for new spectacles.
Now, not only am I having to get the wife proofread this before I hit “publish”, but I’m so dilated that I think there is at least one law against doing what I did to get home.
Since when did it not become optional to get dilated?
We had a pretty damn good election yesterday, but me telling you about it is going to have to wait. For I just cannot type like this for very much longer, lest I go mad.
On the morrow then, ladies and gents.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation of flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

He’s right, you know.
Jonathon Adler at Volokh’s about Thompson’s appearance on Meet the Press (transcript here)
Many politicians say such things. President Bush, for one, spoke quite a bit about the need for state flexibility when he was a Governor and a candidate, but seems to have forgotten about such things over the past six years. It appears Thompson actually means it, however, as he stuck to his federalist guns even when confronted with issues where many “conservatives” abandon federalism and embrace federal power. He even endorsed state autonomy where such a position meant rejecting policy positions favored by significant portions of the GOP base.
On abortion, for example, Thompson said that he believes that life begins at conception, and that Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided and should be overturned. Yet he further stated that he opposes a constitutional amendment prohibiting abortion and the language endorsing a federal prohibition in the 2004 GOP Platform.
Bryan at Hot Air watched the broadcast as well and wonders if the Frederalist stance on abortion will hurt Thompson’s chances with social conservatives. Follow the link for video of the show.
If your one issue is abortion, none of the candidates is going to make you happy. If you believe Romney’s or Giuliani’s pandering on this issue, you’ll deserve exactly what you get.
The big boss gives us a goal of 100 days without an injury or accident. The reward is a free membership to one of the local 24 hour health clubs.
Long story short, we smacked that goal out of the park and now he also owes us each a grilled steak, which’ll be waiting for the day shift when they arrive back at base at the end of the day and for the night crew when we arrive to start our shift, Thursday afternoon.
Seeing as how married life has begun to transform me into “Mr. Tubbyfuck” I took the guy up on the free membership. I was able to get The Wife signed on for free as well, with just a $21 per month fee after that. M-W-F is cardio/weights and Tu-Thu is just cardio.
So if you notice a the posts showing up a bit later thanusual, that is just me in the AM pumpin’ and pedalin’ before postin’.
