Oooh-Rah!

You have to love this move,

President Bush intends to name Marine Gen. Peter Pace the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, officials said yesterday, replacing Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, whose term ends this autumn.

If confirmed by the Senate, Pace would become the first Marine to hold the chairman’s job.

I triple-dog-dare the Senate to oppose this appointment.

Testicular Fortitude by the Truckload

From the Bablu Blog:

HAVANA, Cuba – April 18 (Roberto Santana / www.cubanet.org) – Thirty-four dissidents asked for Fidel Castro’s resignation in an April 12 letter handed in to the offices of the Council of State, over which Castro presides.

The dissidents state in the letter that the people and a good part of the officials in government do not approve of Castro, calling him inflexible and blaming him for the difficulties the country is undergoing. The dissidents also state their intention “not to recognize (Castro’s) authority” and ask him to submit his mandate to popular elections within 90 days.

Anyone who says that these guys aren’t brave is either a fool or and idiot. Or both.

Count ANY Vote: Part Dvadtsat Pyat

Now that things have settled down here at Casa de Analog, let me fill you in on the new happenings in the selection of our latest Governor.

When we last left the situation, the court case was still on hold with the next court date being set for late May and two King County Council Members had requested that the director of the KCEO step down for his incompetence this last go around and his office’s faked absentee ballot report.

Last week King County Executive Ron ‘Tax to the Max’ Simms not only turned down the Washington Secretary of State’s offer to investigate the situation and instead started up one of those super-duper ‘Blue Ribbon’ committees called the “Commission on Elections to look into the KCEO actions.

There is one problem though; it seems that in order to get appointed to be on this Commission, you must have had to donate money to either Simms campaign or to Gregoire’s.

Yeah, that sounds about par for the course around these parts.

Thankfully, while some of the citizens of the county might have been fooled by Simms’ delaying tactic, the Council wasn’t and voted unanimously for an audit of the KCEO yesterday. So now we’ll see where that goes.

Now, some folks might be starting to think about saying “Aww, c’mon guys. Give it up! Let it be and come back strong in 2008.

Sorry, but I can’t support that and here is why,

Thanks to the Democrat controlled houses of the state legislature, Gregoire was able to sign into law a bill that takes away the citizen approved Initiative 601 requirement for a supermajority in order to raise taxes. The Democrats in both houses need this in order to pass their new tax-hiking budget and she was more than willing to provide her signature.

One shining star to come out of this debacle that I want you all to keep is the link to this story because it contains this line from Gregoire:

“I am one who believes in a majority vote … open and transparent and directly honest with the voters.”

Let’s see how many other Democrats see things in her vein, especially nationally. Probably not many once this is over and forgotten by them.

Because you must remember:

When the Republicans control the Executive and Legislative branches of government, it is tyranny.

When Democrats control them, it is Democracy In Action.

Unsurprisingly, Gregoire signed this latest piece of legislation with very little fanfare and she has been doing a lot of ‘Feel Good-Photo Op’ bill signings with lots of cute little kiddies and balloons to draw the attention of the populace and make her look good.

Like this bill to make the Killer Whale the Official Washington State Marine Mammal of Washington. Killer Whale supporters prefer that everyone call the beast an “Orca, but the thing swims about hunting and killing sharks and cute little seals and eating them, the murderous bastard that it is. So screw them, it’s a Killer Whale.

Or how about this worthless piece of legislation that changes King County’s namesake from William Rufus Devane King, Vice President to Franklin Pierce, to Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr.

What the fuck, Chuck?!?

How damned useless can you get? While I personally cannot name a single damned thing ol’ Willy King ever did except die shortly after taking the oath of office, I know for damned sure that this empty gesture isn’t worth the paper Gregoire signed.

But then again, that is all the Democrat Party is good for, isn’t it; Empty Gestures and Moral Sactimony.

So we have the Democrats getting their girl into office under dishonorable means and complete denial of that fact, they then proceed to void citizen enacted legislation so that they can steal more money while smoke-screening the people with legislation written on ass wipe tissue.

Is it time to lock and load yet?

Those Silly Liberals

With the state under Democrat control, the liberals are feeling encouraged to make up some truly stupid legal items and making me feel in the mood to tear their ideas a new asshole.

For instance, homeless advocates are pushing the Seattle City Council and the King County Council to come up with a memorial for bums who have died of exposure while living their ‘outdoor’ lifestyle.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe it IS a shame that liberals got these looneys and addicts booted out of the hospitals and onto the streets where they can freeze to death, but that is about it.

I have a different idea though;

Last week a report came out about a pair of children, a sixteen month old and a six week old, who died of starvation in the custody of their junkie mother while under watch by the Washington State Child Protective Services.

So how about a memorial for all the people who died under the watch of Washington State, not just the bums?

Oh wait, the state is infallible in the mind of the left. Nevermind.

Our next victim is brought to you by the Green Party of South Puget Sound.

They want to rename the Port of Olympia the “Peace Port of Thurston County”.

Good golly, they have lost their damn minds!

You may remember the Green Party of South Puget Sound. Last year around this time they protested the scheduled arrival of the nuclear powered submarine, the USS Olympia, and took part in a letter writing campaign to the Olympia City Council to deny it moorage at the port.

Sadly, they were successful.

What is really sticking in the lefties’ craw is that the US Army uses the Port of Olympia to ship things to Iraq and Afghanistan and this is their end run to try and stop that. They are hoping that once this piece of test-bed legislation goes through, if it does, they will be able to get at least tow of their fellow travelers elected to the Port Commission and stop the military shipping via the port. Also around the time of the USS Olympia debacle, the lefties tried to sabotage military medical shipments that were going to Iraq.

But remember, They Support the Troops!

I personally do not think that this new initiative will pass due to there being tens of thousands of current and former military personnel living in the area and the fact that 2004 was the first year the Port of Olympia turned a profit in over a decade.

But you never know. Especially if Thurston County officials take some lessons on electioneering from their neighbors to the north, King County.

So there you go. If you live in these areas, you now have your assignments.

What Short Memories They Have

Oliver Willis: Occupation Tool uses his unending intellect to infer that because Time Magazine put Ann Coulter on the cover, the media actually leans to the right, saying “Can we just take the ‘liberal media’ meme outside behind the barn and shoot it?”

Fellow left wing cheeseweenie, David Sirota of Sirotablog, even goes so far as to say “When was the last time you saw someone of equal (if not more) importance on the left promoted on the cover of America’s mainstream magazines?â€?

Jay Caruso has an answer for Mr. Sirota

moore.jpg
July 2004

Atrios (aka Duncan Black) goes even further to split hairs, claiming Sirota’s use of the word “Promoted makes everything completely different.

Sorry Duncan, Time was helping Moore “Promote his piece of shit movie. Just what new piece is Coutler pushing. Yeah, she’s got a couple books currently for sale, but they’ve been out for a while and they’re nothing that’ll make her tens of millions of dollars as was Moore’s case.

Think of it as a slow news week device. The whole Coulter story will go away in a couple days and the new edition of Time will come out talking about the new Pope.

Face it Baby-D, your guy made a stupid comment, hoping that everyone else had the same short, selective memories that you all have and got his dick caught in a vice.

You lose this round. Try to take your lumps and learn from them and quit crying.

Its All About Tolerance

As we all learned yesterday from Michelle Malkin’s blog, the folks over at the Klueless Kos Klan are absolutely positive that the new Pontiff, Benedict XVI, is a Nazi.

While I am not going to excuse him joining a horrible organization in his youth, I think that the last 60 years may have been enough to prove that he doesn’t have thing for killing Jews or invading foreign countries.

I know, call me crazy.

Later in the day, one of the Kossuckers actually found some common sense (actually I think it was falling from the sky and hit him in the head, seeing as how those Kos followers don’t actually look for much),

“Calling him a Nazi, however, is unfounded and unfair, and only serves to demean us.”

And was promptly shouted down,

Lefty Malone: “I’ll call him a nazi. Never once in his career has he denounced them.”

Heteraetcaetera: Let me see….
1. Hitler Youth = not a Nazi.
2. Wehrmacht = Not a Nazi.
3. Deserted when illusions failed.
4. Fished out and rescued by US diligence = Not a Nazi.
Hitler himself was a minor landscape artist. Why can’t you people remember that?

SqueakyRat: “They couldn’t find a Nazi. So they chose Ratzinger.”

Sausalito: Hes not my pope! Its one thing to jack-off or throw back a few too many. Its another to be a part of the Hitler Youth!!! Are you guys serious? I remember when the left was trying to say that Bush was shady because his family yada yada yada something to do with Hitlers family. This dude was a part of the movement

He was a nazi though. What the fuck else do you call someone who WAS a member of Hitlers youth militia? I am not saying he believed that shit but he did have a choice! You always have a choice even if death is the result.

And that is only about a third of the way down through the comments.

Remember, they’re all about Tolerance.

There is a John F’n Kerry joke in here somewhere.

But in all seriousness, if you need some entertainment today or later this week, try that thread.

But remember, the spew alert light is flashing.

Guess which finger

Last week the shareholders of Caterpillar gave Rachel Corrie’s parents and their anti-Israel brethren the New Jersey State Bird and stood firm behind their company.

In celebration, I think they should contract someone to make 1000 of these bikes.

Watch the slight of hand

With the hullabaloo over the Republican staffer who wrote the Schiavo memo saying that the Republicans should use the case for their political advantage, Howard Dean must feel pretty cocky to think he can use it to his without reprocussions.

Dean: “We’re going to use Terri Schiavo later on. This is going to be an issue in 2006, and it’s going to be an issue in 2008.”

Oh really, Deaniac? I’ll be interested to see how you play that hand.

And don’t think that the lefties are trying to get Howie to shy away from using it either.

Kos himself loves the idea.

Will they fulfill their oaths?

With the Israel-hating portion of the left wing demanding that people, corporations, and especially Universities, divest themselves of everything Israel, Douglas Davis writing in The Spectator gives the Professors who would support this a little more info than they would probably want.

Pay attention, Professor.Firstly, unplug your computer. Good. Now switch off your interactive digital television set. Well done. And now throw away your mobile phone. Excellent. You see, Professor, these machines are not only the engine of the globalised, capitalist world but they also depend on technologies that have been produced by Israeli academics in the Zionist entity.

Stop playing with your detached mouse, Professor, and concentrate. I’m afraid you may not use the British Library because it has been computerised by Ex Libris, a Zionist company that was spawned by the odious Hebrew University of Jerusalem. And if, God forbid, you develop problems of the small intestine, you may not pop the Zionist-invented ‘video capsule’, which passes naturally through your body as it monitors this delicate piece of your anatomy. You will, sadly, have to take it up the derrière, Professor. As a matter of principle, of course. But remember: your principle allows your proctologist to keep his hand in.

I think that the acedemics might just be a bit, umm uncomfortable, with this situation now that they know the full scope of their wishes.

Name Calling

I’m glad that the leaders of the left wing feel comfortable in letting their true colors show.

Senator Schumer yesterday labeled the head of the conservative Christian Family Research Council “un-American” for accusing Democrats of using the filibuster to block religious judicial nominees.

The accusation came as the Senate majority leader, William Frist of Tennessee, plans to make a speech to a conference organized by the group Sunday. The nationally televised event will argue for an end to the Democrats’ ability to use filibusters to delay judicial nominations in the Senate.

But if you listen to Air America, only Republicans run around calling people ‘Un-American’.

I wonder how their golden boy Chuckie escapes their all seeing eyes?
