HAVANA, Cuba – April 18 (Roberto Santana / www.cubanet.org) – Thirty-four dissidents asked for Fidel Castro’s resignation in an April 12 letter handed in to the offices of the Council of State, over which Castro presides.
The dissidents state in the letter that the people and a good part of the officials in government do not approve of Castro, calling him inflexible and blaming him for the difficulties the country is undergoing. The dissidents also state their intention “not to recognize (Castro’s) authority” and ask him to submit his mandate to popular elections within 90 days.
Anyone who says that these guys aren’t brave is either a fool or and idiot. Or both.
