Those Silly Liberals

With the state under Democrat control, the liberals are feeling encouraged to make up some truly stupid legal items and making me feel in the mood to tear their ideas a new asshole.

For instance, homeless advocates are pushing the Seattle City Council and the King County Council to come up with a memorial for bums who have died of exposure while living their ‘outdoor’ lifestyle.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe it IS a shame that liberals got these looneys and addicts booted out of the hospitals and onto the streets where they can freeze to death, but that is about it.

I have a different idea though;

Last week a report came out about a pair of children, a sixteen month old and a six week old, who died of starvation in the custody of their junkie mother while under watch by the Washington State Child Protective Services.

So how about a memorial for all the people who died under the watch of Washington State, not just the bums?

Oh wait, the state is infallible in the mind of the left. Nevermind.

Our next victim is brought to you by the Green Party of South Puget Sound.

They want to rename the Port of Olympia the “Peace Port of Thurston County”.

Good golly, they have lost their damn minds!

You may remember the Green Party of South Puget Sound. Last year around this time they protested the scheduled arrival of the nuclear powered submarine, the USS Olympia, and took part in a letter writing campaign to the Olympia City Council to deny it moorage at the port.

Sadly, they were successful.

What is really sticking in the lefties’ craw is that the US Army uses the Port of Olympia to ship things to Iraq and Afghanistan and this is their end run to try and stop that. They are hoping that once this piece of test-bed legislation goes through, if it does, they will be able to get at least tow of their fellow travelers elected to the Port Commission and stop the military shipping via the port. Also around the time of the USS Olympia debacle, the lefties tried to sabotage military medical shipments that were going to Iraq.

But remember, They Support the Troops!

I personally do not think that this new initiative will pass due to there being tens of thousands of current and former military personnel living in the area and the fact that 2004 was the first year the Port of Olympia turned a profit in over a decade.

But you never know. Especially if Thurston County officials take some lessons on electioneering from their neighbors to the north, King County.

So there you go. If you live in these areas, you now have your assignments.
