Good News / Bad News

First the bad, just to get it out of the way:

Boomershoot founder and coordinator was recently fired after an “investigation of the Boomershoot website and then his blog.

No matter what I may have against any person in the blogosphere, all the way down to the looniest left wing nut job, I would not wish this upon them or even think of contacting their employer.

That is no hollow statement. Just before Boomershoot I had to self ban myself from a local left wing blog after the guy threatened to contact my employer if I did not stop being the lone voice of opposition at his site.

Joe is currently interviewing for new employment. If you know of an open position in the Pac NW area, please contact him to see if he would be interested.

On the good news side, Joe has a nephew in Iraq, commanding Blue Platoon, C Company, 3-69 Armored Battalion of the 1st Brigade, 42nd Infantry Division in Samarra, Iraq and was featured in an SF Chronicle article that you can read here.

Good luck to Joe and more good luck to his nephew, Lt. Jason Scott.

Do as they say, Not as they do

Why oh why would the ACLU be needing to do a mass shredding of their internal documents?

One so wide spread and so unnecessary that their own Records Manager is making multiple objections.

First they shred the First Amendment on their website and pamphlets, what are they shredding now?

Credit Card Report

This is the most hilarious item I have read in a long time. The second part is a close runner up.

If you ever wondered about retail employees checking the signature on your receipts of your credit card purchases, you will definitely want to read this.

Apparently, it has been out and around for a while, but I had not seen it until last night.at Insignificant Thoughts.

Count ANY Vote: Part Davdtsat Vosem

In Conclusion

As you have probably heard, the Washignton State Superior Court Judge denied the Repubs petition to toss out last November’s gubernatorial election yesterday.

Eh, I figured.

What I didn’t really figure on was Dino Rossi giving a concession speech yesterday afternoon. Wow.

The left is freaking out about how he talked a little smack about the Washington State Supreme Court when he decided not to appeal it to their halls. Some are saying that they are a pretty non-partisan group and some are even saying that they’re ruled by a right wing majority. These people are on some serious hallucinogens. I do not think that a conservative majority would have ruled that beating someone to death is legally only manslaughter as long as you say that you ‘didn’t mean to actually kill them’.

Some are even going so far as to suggest that sanctions and grievances be brought onto the Repubs and their lawyers.

Nothing like a little retribution to make the Dems feel like they have a real mandate in this state.

But enough with the smack talkin’, here’s the skinny.

The Repubs were able to get the conspiracy to defraud by King County elections officials entered into evidence. When they made up their numbers to give to the Secretary of State, they officially screwed up. Oddly enough, they all still have their jobs. Must be magic!

The judge threw out 1678 votes from the total number of votes cast and took four votes off of Rossi’s total and one vote from the total of the libertarian candidate. So officially, Rossi now lost by 133 instead of 129 and the 1678 votes that were thrown out are not reflected in the totals listed for each candidate.

In thirty years some kid will be adding up the individual candidates vote totals and have to find the addendum to figure out why his numbers don’t match.

So ends the 2004 Washington State Governor’s election. In fucking June of 2005.

We made it to Part 28 in this series, by far the longest running series here at RNS. While I am not happy with the results, I am satisfied to know that the entire country now knows of just how truly twisted the elections are in this backwater corner burg of the union and I am also satisfied in my knowledge that statewide public support for Gregoire is virtually nil and about the only folks who currently support her are the hardcore left wing loonies who truly believe that Republicans have horns hiding under their hair.

I am also satisfied that the Repubs took it as far as it could go and that Gregoire is going to hit the pavement hard in 2008, after which her political avenue will reach a dead end.

And unless Gregoire tries to extend her “mandate and tries to silence all opposition, I’ll be right here laughing.

Middle Eastern Europe Equivalent?

So I’m cruising the dKos site yesterday and come across this post, linking to an MSNBC/Newsweek article. In typical MSM fashion, the story is all doom and gloom and speaks in overly leading fashion, saying ‘Quagmire’.

Not to get too far off track here, but you really have to wonder about the sanity of the left when they bitch about the coverage of Iraq. This story is nearly the same as every other story coming out of Iraq, and it is exactly what the leftists believe is Iraq is all about, so why do they bitch about ‘The Real Story Isn’t Coming Out all damn day and night?

But where were we? Oh yeah, quagmire.

Anyway, the guy is droning on and on about how bad the conditions in the 4 mile area he never left called the green zone were and about how mean and stupid the US soldiers are, but that it isn’t their fault because they are just pawns in the Administrations game, yada, yada, yada. Quagmire, quagmire, quagmire.

I re-read that part again and see this line,

Living and working in Iraq, it’s hard not to succumb to despair. At last count America has pumped at least $7 billion into reconstruction projects, with little to show for it but the hostility of ordinary Iraqis, who still have an 18 percent unemployment rate.

And I think this,

“Oh, so its just like modern-day Europe then. Nevermind.

I have been remiss, what with all the hoodoo voodoo going on, in filing my scores with Og the Neanderpundit for his series of Postal Matches.

I was still recovering from the Boomershoot during the first match and that led to me forgetting the second and third ones. Mr. Completely has awoken me from my lack of working memory though and I’m gonna be all over the upcoming one though.

If you want to have a good time and put your skills up against other gunnies in the blogosphere, including myself, there is no better way than this series from Og.

Go here for the schedule and req’s and good luck to you.

There is a PSA out that I found at SondraK’s Knowledge is Power blog about a recall of Olin/Winchester ammunition.

5/20/2005
Olin Corporation, through its Winchester Division, is recalling three (3)
lots of its SUPREME® 7mm Remington Magnum 150 Grain BALLISTIC SILVERTIP®
(BST) centerfire rifle ammunition (Symbol Number SBST7).
Lot Numbers (last four characters): VL82, VL92 and VM10

Take a looksee through your stash and be careful out there folks.

And last, but certainly not least, Raging Dave reported in to Four Right Wing Wackos over the weekend with a post from Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rice.

Yeah, this may not seem ‘firearms related’, but I’ve gone shooting with the guy a lot, so it qualifies.

Getting’ all Perry Mason on their ass

I must confess that I have been quite lax on keeping you all updated on the trial currently underway in Chelan County to try and wrest control of Washington State’s Governor’s office from an unelected person.

I have stayed away from it so as to not get too worked-up over all the crap that is being thrown around. From the Repubs, all you hear is “We’re gonna win this! and from the Dems you hear “Why don’t you guys just give up?

The Dems have made at least two motions to dismiss since it started, both of which the judge tossed out without considering. I wonder what they don’t want entered into the court’s records.

The Repubs were handed a setback on the opening day of the trial when the judge said that the only way he was going rule in their favor is if they could prove that Rossi had won. Showing incompetence in the elections board of King County, felons and illegal aliens voting and damning statistics weren’t enough for a victory under his interpretation of state law, which is part of the reason why, after that first day, I knew I didn’t want to get too emotionally attached to the possible verdict.

Here is the other part of the reason; No matter the verdict here, both sides have pledged to take it to the Washington State Supreme Court if they lose. If the Repubs win and it goes there, the left leaning majority will probably find in the Dems favor OR the court could decide that it is too politically charged and just hand the decision over to the state legislative body, both houses of which are controlled by Democrats.

A winning verdict from this judge could end up dying in committee.

Can you tell I am not hopeful here?

As for highlights in the courtroom, what I wrote about in Part Dvadtsat Shest was entered into the court record. If you missed that part, basically the absentee ballot supervisor for King County testified that her and her immediate supervisor knowingly filed an incorrect count of absentee ballots in the county with the Secretary of State so that he could certify the election.

I’d call that conspiracy to defraud or at least conspiracy to file false documents. But we’ll have to wait for the judge on that.

In other distractions to the court case, in King County, Doris McFarland, 83, and Robert Holmgren, 59, each admitted in King County District Court that they forged the signatures of and cast ballots for their recently deceased spouses.

$500 fines for each of them, but no jail time.

There has not been one single word on even an investigation into felons voting illegally in the county. Both of these people were caught because they had the good morals to admit to breaking the law. I guess a list of names and addresses of people whose ballots are verifiable as processed just isn’t enough to charge or arrest a felon in King County.

I was going to get a house alarm for Casa de Analog, but now that they have an 83 year old double voter processed through the system, I feel much safer! Poor fluffy will have to go without her tin of meat this month.

Anyway, reporting from behind enemy lines under taxation without representation, this has been the Analog Kid.

Unappreciated

I arrived early for my ‘Sensitivity’ indoctrination yesterday and found close to 100 other poor souls from various other departments and facilitieswho were in for the speil.

We all made it through without anyone breaking down and confessing to being a closet racist or a mysoginist but it wasn’t because the speaker wasn’t trying. I confessed to being a Grade-A asshole and the confession was taken down on paper and filed.

“There once was a man from Nantucket” just isn’t as popular as it used to be, I guess. Some people just can’t take a joke, not even the one where the Protestant, the Jew and the Muslim go skydiving. The two nuns in the gay bar was barely more popular, though you’d think that the guy behind the podium had a sister in the seminary what with his reaction and all.

When I told him to lighten up he did so by taking his shows off and throwing them at me. If anyone needs a pair of Size 9 Hush Puppies, I may have a source.

On the bright side, I won’t have to go through that for at least another year.

Today is do nothing day and catch up on sleep day for me. I’ll be up when the sun goes down, being a menace and writing some commentary on the legal fight for the Washignton State Governor’s chair and finishing up a addendum to the last By Ourselves, For Ourselves post since I realized I forgot a couple things.

Have a good Sunday all. Enjoy the Professors lesson for this weekend and we’ll see you tomorrow.
