If This Happens We’re Dropping Cable TV

As the only reason we still have it is the wife’s NFL addiction. Which this would satisfy.

In other news, we got an Apple TV box for Xmas and it rocks. Why listen to the radio when you can use your iPhone as a remote control for streaming YouTube or iPod songs/videos etc. over your TV? For its limited abilities, it does them very well.

We dumped our satellite ($90/mo) last year and recently got a Roku ($100). The Roku, coupled with our NetFlix ($10/mo) and HuluPlus ($10/mo) meets all of our entertainment needs.

Can you get NFL broadcast games on the Roku? I couldn’t find that out for certain when I was researching it this morning.

If you think the appleTV rocks, check out either the WD HD Live Plus or any computer loaded with XBMC. I don’t believe you can use your ipod as a remote. Yet, for that loss you gain the ability to play many more formats and no iTunes lock in. For me that’s a plus, for you maybe not. 🙂
