No AWB for You in This Congress

Sebastian has the great news — and the math on the votes.

Hurrah for those 65 Democrats — and the NRA for orchestrating this blunt slapdown of a letter to Eric Holder.

Can prices go down now, please? I still can’t afford to buy a lower parts kit for my stripped lower receiver — or an upper receiver, for that matter.

Not only prices, but availability. A friend of mine ordered 2 LPKs from Del-Ton, and just got a call today saying they’re back-ordered out a YEAR…

  2. TexasREd says:

I am glade to see my represenative from Central Texas signed this letter. I did not vote for him, but as far as democrats go he is one of the better ones.

  3. Myles says:

    They’ll be back…

  4. Sigivald says:

Lower parts aren’t the real killer, I’ve found (me and a coworker are both building ARs – second for me, first for him).

(Brownell’s seems to have all the lower parts you might want, if not all in a single kit…)

Barrels are the real killer; nothing like a 16-20″ standard barrel to be found for love nor money.

(Shorty barrels, yes. Race-gun 24″ barrels, yes. Match HBAR stainless barrels for $500, sure.

    But a 16″ M4 or a 20″ A2? Hah.)

  5. 6Kings says:

Unfortunately Myles, you are correct. It never ends with the screwball Democrats. They just keep introducing unconstitutional legislation continually until one sticks. Then another and another….

  6. Phil says:

I’ve found just the opposite, Sigi. I’ve had a 11.5″ on order for 6mos now but the company won’t take the time to roll one because they’re focusing on producing the 16’s & 18’s.

Since you’re starting threads, see if this fits your pistol.

In my rambly reading of gunblogs, I occasionally stumble across one that is both Tacti-cool AND true survivalist.

The Tacticool folks believe that if it’s tactical, it has fear factor built-in.

Now, fear-factor IS a good thing IF it makes the bad guy hesitate just long enough for you to bring your weapon to bear and squeeze a good shot off, but fear-factor can also be bad, as evidenced by the fact that it seems to be the chief motivator behind all the PSH of the gun-banners.

So, I propose for discussion: “Tacti-cool: our best friend or our worst enemy?”

An alternative thread might be: “Can the hard image of the “EBR” be softened, and should it be?”
