The Price for Power?

Just give up most of what you believe in.

Nominee would lead ID program she opposed

As governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano, President-elect Barack Obama’s choice for homeland security secretary, pledged that her state would not cooperate with a major domestic security initiative, the Real ID drivers’ license program.

The program, which she would direct if confirmed as secretary, imposes stringent requirements on states for confirming the identity and legal residency of people who want drivers’ licenses. Ms. Napolitano said the law would impose huge costs on the states without reimbursement from Washington.

I’m sure that she will “see the light” of the program once behind the desk.

As an Arizonan I can tell you right now that she WILL have a sudden “turn of heart” and realize how “beneficial” this will be for America. The only reason she fought that putrid piece of filth was because the Fed.gov was passing the cost on to the States. If someone from D.C had shown up here in Phoenix with a blank check and said “Here you go Janet, any and all Real ID costs that you are worried about will be taken care of by us” she would’ve been singing it’s praises from the roof of the state capitol.
